Here is what I did. I called back with this script: My name is agent martin jordan with the msa, my id # is 6342155. It has come to the attention of this agency that this phone number is being used to threaten us citizens illegally. Is your supervisor/manager available to discuss the implications and legal ramifications that are associated with these charges?

Complete scam! Said Treasury Dept worker notifying me of outstanding deot owed to the IRS from 2012, complete bogus, threatened to send someone to my home to bring me into custody, hung up on me twice. Don't fall for this lie

Fake IRS Scam:
I received many times, sometimes several times a day. The message left was "This call is from IRS, the IRS agent file a lawsuit against you, please call back on 360-205-7066, they are waiting for your phone call."

Fake Treasure Scam:
“Hi, my name is Steve Jordan, and this message is intended to contact you regarding the enforcement action executed by the United States criminal offence, intending detection, ignore them will be intentional second attain, all grand jury for federal criminal offence. My number is 817-533-9843, I repeat it’s 817-533-9843, I want you to cooperate with us, thank you.”

These kinds of scam already happened all over in the Asia countries for the past six or seven years. Recently, start to move to west countries.
The voice must come from robot, hard to mention each individual called party name.

How to avoid these kinds scam?

First, NEVER CALL BACK. NEVER CALL BACK. NEVER CALL BACK! (when you call back, they can reroute your call to a fake IRS phone, and ask you to pay the bill electronically. They can change their caller ID to any number, they can reroute your call to any number. Usually they work as a team, can be from 10 to 50, or even more than 100 people, and they call from third world countries, like Kenya, middle east countries.)

Second, if the real IRS or Treasure would like to contact you, they will mail you by formal document letter professionally, with very clear IRS or Treasure department person name with job position, contact address, phone number, and case number.

US Treasury filling a lawsuit... bla bla. The last part of the call is great: Press 1 to talk to a Sr Attorney - Press 2 to face legal charges.
Wow... I rest my case :)

I got this call today while I was taking a nap.  The voice was of an british accent and the last name of the person was Jordan just like all the other reports here. It said I would have to appear before a " Magistrate". Who in the United States calls judges " Magistrates" ? I sure as heck don't. The message also said this was as second call to avoid prosecution. What a bunch of Bull++++.  Caller ID did say it was from Arlington Texas area. If anything, They would not be suing me , I would be Suing them for the way they have handled Social Security over the years and stealing money out of OUR pockets and placing I O U ' S in the fund. Sorry for the socio political line but that is what you should tell them if you are retired.

these people are calling stating that they are collecting monies from the IRS on back taxes

Called 9/29/16.  THREATENING PHONE CALL.  Mason Calling regarding enforcement of legal action executed by US Treasury.  Unintelligible.  Ignoring this will be intentional attempt to ignore appearance before a magistrate judge,  ?? jury, federal crime.  Press 1 to speak with senior attorney.  "Press 2 to face legal charges."

Someone identifying himself as "Pete Jordan" leaving a vm message saying that ignoring the message would be a direct violation of the "magistrate."  Definitely a scam.........

got the call today........I asked for steve Jordan.......got an Indian IRS Agent........I let her babble for about five minutes.......then I asked if an Indian c**t like her takes it up the ass....she hung up

Left message in foreign voice, that IRS is suing me.

I just checked my message from Steve Jordan saying there an action taken against me by the IRS another scam claiming l would be prosecuted beware of this scam people .l appreciate all of your comments and info on this scam.The same scam was attempted on my brother 3 months ago.

Steve Jordan, India-accent, called threatening U.S. Treasury criminal action for not complying & offers to "help" at 817-533-9843.  Note if U.S. Gov't wants you, they know how to contact you by mail.

Says I'm being sued and about to be arrested, need to go in front of judge or magistrate (which is it, friggin idiot?). Hang up, bogus. Came in on another number on caller ID but not sure which. This is number they give to reach them.
