I am so sick of this. The do not call list doesn't work.

Unfortunately, pressing 1will not do it.  I've received at least half a dozen calls from these a**holes, including two today.  I thought the call was odd, the first time I got it, as I am not a homeowner and do not have a mortgage. So, I assumed it was a mix-up and pressed 1.  The calls stopped for a while then started up again.

The second time I got the call, I held the line to speak with someone.  As soon as I asked how they got my number, they hung up.  Same thing happened today.  They don't tell you who they are, where they're calling from, and the number comes up blocked if you try to call them back.  This is driving me crazy and I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done.

Just got the call on my Vonage landline, didn't recognize the number on the ID screen (it said "Unknown Caller), so I didn't pick up. We have no debts and have no mortgage. They have called 3 times in one week, so far, and all of our phone numbers are also on the Do Not Call list.

They called me today about some sort of mortgage deal.  It's a recorded message and they refuse to identify themselves in the robocall for obvious reasons.  Any company that does spam-calls without an actual identity is asking for trouble because I will report them to the Donotcall registry given that I have been on the do not call list for quite sometime.  It angers me because I am bombarded with these types of calls daily to my cell phone.  Even when they tell you to press a particular number to stop the call, there is never a confirmation of any kind that you are off their calling list when you should never have been on their calling list to begin with.  Not only do they use up my cell phone minutes with these dumb calls, they waste my precious time, clog my voicemail and since my phone number has been sold to third parties without my permission by my cell phone company, I just feel royally harrassed.  It's up to everyone here on this list who has been extremely careful about giving out their cell phone number to report these calls so that the government does something about
unethical advertising.  Nobody should be ignoring this because this is how they got your number to begin with.  Be verbal about the harrassment and report them.

no message

Called and did not leave a message.  Got an app that will not only reveal blocked calls, but will block the number/name of the villain's calls.  Tired of these fishers of men.  I love smart phones.

Robo call -scam - probably initiated from outside US.  You can report, block, etc.  They will just call again from another number.  They do not necessairly have YOUR number.  They have a computer that calls most all numbers.  The crooks always seem to be one step ahead in technology.  That's how they get their/your money.  Rewards are too small for time invested for those who could stop them.  If we want the use of a phone, we will just have to deal with them until some of that changes.  The people at "donotcall" are not as mad at them as you are.  Oh well.

I get 3-4 calls a week from this number. The caller ID says "California Call." I'm on the DO OT CALL list and have been since it started but in order to keep it active you need to re-submit your numbers EVERY YEAR!!! That is how a lot of these companies are getting away with calling you.

Thank you for your input; I too received a call from this number, if I do not recognized it, I don't answer it. But I suspected as such. The Robo calls are illegal in Maryland, but they still use the system. It is  apparent that no one is monitoring for these type of calls. What good is a DO NOT CALL System.

Got a scary message left on my home phone.  The message was seven gun shots and after the
gun shots my name was said. Icalled the sherriff,s office and they told me about this scam.

As long as they program the calling number with some telephone number that the Caller ID system will accept you can notblock the call with the NO ID option and some source numbers have been sold to Brand x telephone number vendors. The main telephone company equipment that provides dial tone can not deny the call and the receiving phone company (yours) can not block it.
So I guess you loose the old fashioned comfort of having a phone and have to buy and install an answering device or let all you calls go to voice mail and check that as often as needed.

Robocaller for data compiler for google.  Bunch of crap.

Call came in & didn't answer it cause I didn't recognize the number.
Caller ID says:  Canoga Park  CA.  Did not leave a message on the answering machine.

Got a text from 818-870-8100 at 4:30am.  Have no idea who this is or why I get calls from them.  I am disabled sand have a phone from life line, I get 68 min a month.  When I get these crap calls or texts it takes away from my time.  I'm on every do not call list there is and still get these crap calls.  I wish someone could help me put an end to these calls.F8V6

Ireceived a call from this number today 06-20-12. I rejected the called. I called the number back
and got a recording saying this is not a working number.  They need to go and find a job and stop scaming people.
