So I've been called 3 times now and let it go to voicemail. I decided to call back.  It just went to a voicemail saying, 'if you'd like to be taken off our call list, leave your name and number." I left a message saying "I will not give you my name, but my number is...xxxx please stop calling."

Some Equity Management company...asked to have my number removed...

Calling my personal cell phone. No message left. Do not call registery is good for what?

I got same call today. Pretty strange, russian caller wanting to send me an investment package, Not the usual high pressure. I think phishing for address.

Company will call ask for owner  -- he is very busy--- gives no info-- and will not leave a message?????

sneaky sneaky..caller I.D. came up "win" and  of course some smuchk  will answer but come on folks...

the "do not call list" is a (political) farce.  not only does it not have any teeth (and politicians have explicitly exempted their own fundraisers, for example), but it is being used as a CALLING list by unscrupulous telemarketers.

if they are allowed to get away with forging their callerid information, there is no way to police them - bogus callerid should lead to immediate disconnection, but good luck trying to get anyone, and especially the telcos who are hungry for commercial business, to do it.

what makes you think the "government" cares?

the so-called "do not call list" is the best thing that ever happened to the fly by night telemarketers, since it provided them with prepared lists of potential marks.  do you think that an offshore telemarketer will follow your silly rules?

the telcos are the ones who *could* police this, but what's in it for them, in exchange for p!ssing off some of their medium-sized customers?

They've been calling me every day for about a month now. They never leave a message. I get a lot of calls from collectors for people I've never heard of though, so I'm suspecting it's just another one of them.

Called to offer me mail me "investment information" at (he said my full home address).  If they wouldn't have had my actual home address, I would have given them a false address...in an effort to waste their money for postage.

They just called and asked to speak to my son who died a year and a half ago.  I said did you know him and they just hung up.  Obviously they need to work on customer service and empathy.  Oh, well!
