- LB - WirralI received a text message yesterday morning 8.03am from 82355. I was actually still sleeping as have been staying with mum as her parnter died suddenly with a brain hemorrhage.
The text says "Thanks for downloading the Video.Share it for FREE via bluetooth or MMS! In case of any problem call 08706091795 £5.oo /vid
I don't even know how to download a ringtone on my phone never mind a video. It doesn't even connect to the internet.
Has anybody else had this?
I rang the muber and left a message on the machine. Its said would be answered within 24 hrs??????
I couldn't quite catch the company name. Sounds like w2 or something similar - sueI had this aswell and have just checked my bill and i have been charged £4.26 plus vat. It's disgusting that this can happen.
- PaulJust had the same coversation with orange.. They re embursed me
- JohnWI had the same on 27th Nov Orange only refunded £2
- PaulHI too received the same text message from 82355, and on opening the text message, the video automatically downloaded. I then received another text message thanking me for downloading the video at a cost of £5, followed by two further messages exactly the same.
I have now received my monthly bill and I have been charged 6 messages at £2.40 something for these messages. I have complainted to O2, and am waiting on a reply from them, and will be calling the company first thing tomorrow morning demanding a refund or I will be passing the matter onto my solicitor to deal with on my behalf. I will update here once I have more info.- Caller: Venista
- eghi PaulH,
this company is receiving a lot of complaints. It appears they are doing this to thousands of phone numbers realising only a handful will notice or bother to chase around for a refund.
here's background on who these crooks are

there was even an article in the South African press this morning about them doing this

It's also very important that you put a complaint in to the UK Regulator Phonepayplus.

and remember O2 and the other Network Operators are sharing the money with Venista so don't expect to much help from them.
best of luck and please report them- Caller: Venista
