I just received a telephone call from them today. The woman, told me that she is from Statistics Canada to do a mandatory survey for payroll, that's what she told me.

Left a message at 8:15 am that he was from Statistics Canada and left a number for me to call back. It showed up on my phone as unknown number. SCAM.

This morning I received 6 missed calls from this number and I got 3 letter for the surveys thing. I don’t know why they calling me

Omg it’s happened to me still calling me no number. She confirmed my address I told her Canada service has already my number and why u didn’t called me by your number. Sorry I got confused and gives me a number to calling you back.

So you simply decided to string a bunch of words together and expected them to actually make sense?

I received a call today from ‘Caleb’ at ‘the government of Canada’ in regard to quarantine compliance.
He had my name and address. He wanted me to provide confirmation of my identity via government issued ID. First request was for my passport number. I said that my passport was locked in the safe. He asked about my driver’s license. I declined.
The content of the conversation was close to, but not identical to calls that I had received from the verified government phone number, which is 888.336.7735.
Not sure of the nature of the scam, but this is not a legitimate government contact. Be careful.

Scam, call  , said stats  can. SCAM.. .COULD UNDERSTAND  1/4 OF WHAT SHE WANTS SAYING.

She claimed to be from Statistics Canada and asked for my address. I refused to provide it and asked her if she even knows what my name is, she did not and told me she can get it only if I give her the address. It seemed fishy, so I hung up and checked the official website. This number is NOT listed as the official Statistics Canada number. Likely a scam trying to get your information and sell it to someone else.

I received a voice mail yesterday at 8:30 pm last night.   A person just said “This us Stats Canada about an important survey, call us back”. They did not ID themselves, provide office hours nor a phone number.   I looked up Stats Can and they are opened Mon-Friday from 830-1630.   Why is someone calling at 8:30 at night?
This is a SCAM, block the call, do not return the call.  Keep in mind, Scammers can spoof a number and have “Canada” or “Stats Can” show up on a display.  IGNORE

You can verify any Statistics Canada employee by asking them for their name & employee ID number, and calling StatCan at 1-877-949-9492 to confirm. It's all there on the StatCan website.  Survey calls are made up until 9pm local times, across Canada.

Have had over 10 calls from this number over a few days. They left a voicemail from an artificial voice saying they are from Statistic Canada. Seems like scam

Get calls from this number constantly.  Finally left a message.. couldn't understand it, English was bad. Erased it.  Few weeks later got another message. Ask to call back with a reference number.  Funny it sounded like a message I got from a collection agency.... so I think you need to be careful I think it's a scammer.

I received a call from this number claiming to be stats can. The person gave their supposed full name (representatives don't do that), a search of the number didn't show as stats can, and Google links it to a suspicious sounding twitter and FB page that use pressure tactics and vaguely threatening responses of fines for not complying. Supposedly you can call 24 hrs through the week, and 8-4 on the weekend. Sorry, but when has the government EVER been that efficient?

Scam caller. Didn’t know my name wanted me to confirm my address. Difficult to understand. Called from this number and then again from a blocked number

Excessive amount of calls leaving voice messages with stanges noises in the background.

I am tired of getting calls from Stats Canada at least that is who they say they are. They keep trying to get me to do surveys. I complied witht the first and second survey and now they are calling again. Why are they hounding people to do surveys and tell them the surveys are mandatory? Isn't there some one who can check into this and do something about it? I don't think  people should be coerced into doing government surveys.

I keep getting calls from "Statistics Canada".  Several calls, including evening hours.  Is this a scam?
