Someone called from this #tel:844-585-0488. Said they were the fraud dept from Bank of America and asked for my acct number. I refused. Called MY # for Bank of America and they confirmed it was a scam!!!!   Scammers are too savvy!

I had a message from this number today. They even had the last four numbers of my card and wanted me to call back about a possible problem with my card. The bank doesn't make these calls. It there is a problem we have received an email with specific charges we can ok, or a letter.

Had a voicemail from this number today, I had a problem with my card today and almost called back, thinking it could have been legitimate.

I also got a phone call from this number today. It's a scam. Please make sure you visit your BOA and ask or call them yourself first!!

Ditto. I too received an call from this number (844 585 0488) 2 May 2018 @4:14pm recorded message stating "Thank you for calling Bank of America Fraud Department" and I immediately hung up the phone. When I called the number back for name of calling party my call was answered with “the number you are calling is not in service”. It is a scam!

I received a msg saying that "panavente tecnologia" was trying to charge me $965.85, say yes or no if you are making this transaction. I text back with "no" and they told me that my credit card was blocked. Still not sure if this is a scam or not, it looks legit but it also showed me the last 4 digits and it doesn't match with any of my cards. Called back and it has the same answer machine for bank of america.

I have set up a fraud protection with Bank of America. I received a call from this number immediately  after I have tried to made a transaction with large amount. They just want to confirm the transaction I was made it and told me the transaction was declined . They were talking to me and had asking I made the transaction again to make sure I owned that transaction.

I too received a call from this number immediately after I made a transaction over the phone for a Canon GX 1 mark III camera. They just want to clarify that I did make the transaction. I feel suspicious it is a scam, not from Bank of America Visa, after answering "Yes" and called BoA Customer Service to get to the BoA Fraud Dept. The representative said the number show up on her search of BoA phones. And all transactions on my BoA visa accounts are clear. But she did mention that BoA alert suspicious fraud through text message and automate voice mail with a call back number. The call from this number is considered unusual situation.

This is a Bank of America Fraud Dept. outbound number. I called back and the automated system asked for the last 4 digit or my account or SSN. I entered the last four of the account number and then was asked for my security code at which point I disconnected. Fifteen minutes later, I got another call from the same number. This time I answered and it was the Bank. They were verifying a few charges on a new card we had just activated. TOld them I was not happy that the automated system asked for my security code.That's a show stopper unless I can verify who's on the line.

This is a scam. The 3 posts above from CB2455, Phu Nguyen, and Bai Chu are all the scammers. If you called a 1800 number and it was legit, would you actually post it was legit on some random website?  No. You would not.

They are called Shills.

I got a call and did research before i answered.  Then got a text from my bank.B of a. Calling them back not just yes or no.

Just got a text message asking if I was attempting a transaction at Walmart.com, I replied no and they told me
My card is now limited access and to call that number. Numbers in card didn’t match mine and I was suspicious about this number they told me to call so I decided to research it

The "Attempted Transaction" scam using text is a less common and newer twist. The interesting  thing is that it is rather an obvious scam, but to the crooks this is a nice test. Anyone who falls for the first level and calls back will be dumb or scared enough to manipulate into giving up info and sometimes money the scammers are after.

I received an email that appeared to come from Bank of America Fraud department which gave this number to call back.  I clicked the number on my cell and it called someplace in Libia. +21 844-585-0488

Called claiming to be from Bank of America Fraud department regarding unusual activity.  When they asked about SSN, I hung up.  Glad I did.

I had a call supposedly from BOA for someone who no only does not life here, but we DO NOT have an account with them. My answering machine got it,and I suspected scam right away.
