My 12 year old daughter has recieved  texts for amounting to £31.00 from 84767. She insisted that she did not reply to any texts sent to her. The only thing that we can link these charges to is something on facebook called Habbo hotel. she thinks she may have given her mobile number during some sort of sign up process

I had the same thing - 4 texts, £3 each, all in close succession, on the 27th July. I have had T-Mobile block this type of activity from my account, you should contact your network to do the same. Not sure how we can contest the payment though

I have just got my phone bill through (11 July 2011) and i have 8 messages sent to "84767" and costs another £10 on top of my bill. This is the first time this has happened to me and my mum has phoned up 3 network to sort it out so i suggest that.

My daughter was also charged £3 to receive three messages and £1.20 to apparently send three messages to 84767 on 17th July.  We have worked out that this was from a free application which she downloaded on her phone called "QuizCash" which was a quiz game in which you had to type in your mobile number to get your login details.

She assures me that she was not playing for money and just thought that it was an innocent quiz game which did not state that they charged to play.  I have warned her that it future do not play any games where it asks for your mobile phone number!

This is the number which charges you for facebook credits. You only get charged if you reply to the text to confirm.

Facebook credits can be used in many online games, expect kids to deny all knowledge!

More than likely it is your child putting credit on the habbo site ! this is a hotel game that children go on and can buy credit through their mobiles ! this has just cost me over £88 this month in charges for stupid credits that they have got ! i have rang habbo and complained to them i will let you know the outcome ! how ever if any of you want to ring their number is 0203 4118847 habbo claim to have a 25/per week credit limit that can be done through a phone which in my opion is absurd as this is meant to be a site for children !

http://www.uk.ultigame.com/lp/1422/next lists this number to cancel your game subscription.... I got this site and it said I could win an iphone4, just enter my mobile number.... read the small print and 84767 is the 'stop' number you text.

Watch out for youngsters wanting a free ipod, iphone or iwhatever and using this 'service'
