- QuickAccording to the Washington Secretary of State's Office at www.sos.wa.gov, the Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation ONLY ALLOCATES JUST 6% OF THE FUNDS THAT THEY RECEIVE TO PROGRAM SERVICES DURING FISCAL YEAR 2009.
IN OTHER WORDS, THEY DIVERT 94% OF THE DONATIONS THAT THEY RECEIVE FOR OTHER PURPOSES THAN THE STATED PURSPOSE -- such as salaries for foundation members and fees paid to fund raising organizations (telemarketers). Only $81,156 out of $1.6 MILLION collected in 2009 went to actual program services.
Their mailing address appears to be a law firm in Kansas City, Mo., while their actual physical address is in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. FOUR OF THE FIVE TELEMARKETING ORGANIZATIONS THAT THEY USED ALSO USED THE SAME K.C. MAILING ADDRESS AS THE CHARITY.- Caller: Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation

- FS replies to SKEpticalFace it. You are a telemarketer. You can hide behind the "Charity Fundraiser" name to get around the
"Do Not Call" law but it is still the same thing. If the company you work for would do as asked and add our names to the DNC list, just think how much more productive your time would be. I don't like being rude but day after day, year after year, the same scam groups call. I have caller ID set to display when certain numbers call, FAKE, SCAM, A**, among others. It allows me to prepare my response. When you set my ID to read 000-000-0000 or private, I know its you. Yes it takes time, but I enjoy posting to everyone at the various sites all the tricks you use. No means no. Don't force me to be rude by not listening to me!!! - would be contributor replies to SKEptical| 1 replyI am sorry you have to endure that. A hangup is all we need to do.
- not falling for it replies to BLKI also asked for more info and was hung up on after a curt: "That's not a commitment!" I am pursuing this with the BBB, TV, etc. Please, I encourage others to follow-up. I am a cancer survivor and resent this abuse and misrepresentation. Please help stop this. The phone number I recorded was:1-414-921-7181 Thanks
- NonSkepticalIt is very unfortunate that you write this about this foundation. I have personally used them and have referred several of my friends and relatives to them and all of us have been assisted. They do not only help black women Im not and some of my friends are not and they have helped.
If you call them directly you will see for yourself. I think its ashame that you base your opinion based on fundraising activities and not on actual facts.- Caller: MPi
- maybeicanhelp replies to BLKi used to work at a call center and i would try get donations for woman to woman if u donate only 10% actually goes to the foundation
- oneandonly replies to would be contributorim sorry but its not polite to jst hang up on people i used to work for donation call centers and u could get fired for hanging up ur supposed to be nice.. anyways most call center r now recording when they call out
- Terri replies to SDeanThanks for your message. I wasn't sure either and have received another call telling me they have not received the donation and have sent 2 notices. I have not seen any notices. I don't feel comfortable sending a check to this organization. Thanks again.
- LindaOn the Do Not Call List! Why am I getting calls?

- DonnaSo glad I checked this message board. I was skeptical, but they caught me at a busy moment and I agreed to send a donation. When I received the pledge material, and saw that they include a thank you to the paid professional fundraisers who solicit for them, I knew that the majority of the funds raised go to the professional fundraisers and very little to breast cancer patients. They called today and reminded me to send my pledge, but I won't be doing that.
- Debbie replies to Shari| 2 repliesWow I am so glad I decided to research this. They called me I was not paying attention to the number on the phone but the women stated that I had given them a donation in the past. I agreed to the donation just to gt her off the phone. Further research done, I had never given a donation to them in the past. So please beware
It all sounds good until you check into it. - Mary WishmannTwice, I didn't answer the phone w/ the # 000-000-0000. My daughter did on the third call. They asked for me by name. The caller was very nice. I even wished her "good luck with your calls tonight." She transferred me to the verification man. I had been undecided on the amount I wanted to give. Then he said, "That's not a commitment." and hung up on me. That is what made me check this out. It makes me feel really bad inside.

- Going to be nice replies to SKEpticalI do feel for you telemarketers, and appreciate you writing about your job... you are in a bind too!
Take care and may you find a job where you can "bless and be blessed". - R.harris@w2wbcf.org replies to DebbieI am sorry that there are many complaints about the call center experience everyone is receiving. We are a creditable 501 c 3 organization. You can go our website to see our financial statements. We are having events and workshops to assist breast cancer patients and survivors with early detection. If you have questions or concerns call our office 954-730-7338. My name is Raven Harris and we are real people trying to make a real change and fight against this illness.
- woman2womanI received the call too from woman 2 woman. If you go to the site and look at the financials, you will see they raised in 2009 or 10 $6,258,000.00 through professional fund raising and paid for the professional fundraising $6,200,000.oo
so somebody explained to me how six million raised, 6 million paid???!!! they are not helping but the fundraisers!!!!!

- Christopher WrightI have received numerous calls from this number, but they were all hang-ups after the caller realized it was a man answering the phone. Then I got a call from "Mike" claiming to represent Woman2Woman Breast Cancer Foundation, and that I had donated to them before, at $40.00, and could I do this again, except now for $50.00. I live on Social Security, and would remember if I had made such a large donation to them before. I had not. I told Mike that I might consider making a donation, but needed to see some information first, and certainly not at this level without knowing anything about this organization.
A week later, I received a bill, no information. On checking with the internet (thank you for making this "billboard" available!!), I find that this outfit is a scam. Thanks for saving yet another victim of false tele-marketing, designed to take advantage of people's sympathies for their own gain.- Caller: "WOMAN2WOMAN BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION

- Lola replies to DebbieThank you all so much for the feedback on this group! as others mentioned, they called me by first name (sent the pledge info with incorrect surname) and told me that I HAD DONATED at a specific level in the past. I am a breast cancer survivor, still medicating and I have donated to ACS in the past. They caught me unaware - We should be on a DNC list - and I assumed they were correct about my being a previous supporter. This may well be a fault of the telefund that is doing their campaign. Still, it is a dishonest approach. Further research into the actual organization did nothing to instill trust. No donation from me - there are reputable folks who need the relatively few donation dollars my family can provide!
- KarenI received a call from a person in April 2012. She was pleasant enough. I asked her to send information because I had not heard of the foundation and I am very familiar with other foundations for breast cancer and do volunteer work for a couple. She then became rude. I finally agreed to $25.00. When I received the information and researched the organization I decided to not contribute. The money is all used for administrative costs. I have now been receiving collection calls from the same company.

- LCS from KYThis "charity" gives approximately 3% of its proceeds to breast cancer programs according to the State of Washington charity registration info. Do not give to these people, instead direct your donations where they will do the most good. ie. American Cancer Society or equivalent

- Ryan PiersonHi, READ THIS CLOSELY..I AM THE GUY WHO CALLS YOU AT HOME
The previous posts about telemarketing complaints and ex-cons working there are all true. I personally work at one, I'm a 18 yr old student (not a con). In the beginning I felt great I found a job where I raised money for alleged national and local charities from everything from State Troopers to Breast Cancer Foundations....until I did some of my own research on the comapany..askin around, searching the net, even makin some calls. I still do not have definite answers, but atleast some of these organizations might be real and help out the "cause". Ofcourse a large percentage (very large) of your donations are paid back to telemarketers and administration. This I find somewhat understandable beacause we are raising alot of money for non-profits and all they have to do is sign some papers. If we told everyone how much we are paid, no one would donate..no money would go anywhere--to us or the charity. And we will never tell you to directly give to the non profit because we make nothing from such a donation.
In fact, we tell you your money will go DIRECTLY to them...BUT we don't tell you that alot will be siphoned off to us. If you think about it, thats how charity marathons work too...most of the money end up being used to pay for other exoenses, but even if millions of dollars are raised, a lot of money, though not as much as millions, is raised for say Breast Cancer.
The thing I now have a problem with is whether these charities we call for are even legit. Again, I am not entirely sure...for most we do say we are registered with the Attorney General, so atleast some have to be. This is a very interesting yet gloomy industry not too many people are aware of. Ironically my family has sent checks to the very charities in the past through the same soliciting comany I work for..and I've called my own sister recently (no joke--it was akward and hilarious).
My advice for EVERYBODY OUT THERE that we call :
Here us out for, make a big or small pledge, sound sincere and let us verify your address. When you get the envelope and bumper sticker in the mail..DO NOT SEND BACK ANY MONEY. We are paid/hired based on your PLEDGES...not on whether or not you send back money, thats the company's problem. That way we college students, homeless people, other unemployed people, and yes ex-cons (felons really) are not on the street...and this company will eventually go bankrupts sending people stuff in the mail without getting any money returned to them...but yes beaware we will call you back several times for more donations, but if you keep doing the same thing (makin a plege but not sending money), our boss will eventually remove you from the list.
Or you could just hangup and say you're not interested....but believe me we will still call you no matter how uninterested you are..every year, and if you're don't want to give your personal info (name and address) when you make your fake pledge --well we already have that info anyway and don't send spam mail cuz we can afford it haha.
I'm sad I work there, but I need money like everyone...But together if you spread the word we can drive these people outta business. And people don't yel at telemarketers--they really do hate the comany more than you...don't waste your voice with that..rather turn the tables and scam us back...that way every one is happy except the actual people you should hate - the owners, bosses, and rich CEOs of these horrid industries.
I'm so glad I found this website where someone will be able to read this.
By the way , my name (fake name) is Ryan Pierson on the phone...keep me in mind.- Caller: I'm the caller
