i just miss this call who is this

Got this call on August 6 9:23AM, but didn't pick up. I'm in Edmonton, same as the last few posters. So they must be concentrating on Edmonton. Not sure if Fido is selling my number or how these people got it.

I got a call from 850 1989 0037 at 11:02 this morning, did not pick up. I'm also a Fido customer.

Got called as well while at work. Didn't answer, but same exact number. Seems the person/people are making their rounds. Also from the Edmonton area. Call occurred at: 2:39pm.

Also edmonton canada fido subsriber got this call about an hour ago. They must have gotten access to a fido list or something of that nature. If enough of us complain fido should investigate.

Also in Edmonton, Rogers subscriber, got this call yesterday, thankfully I screen calls like this.

Fido number in Calgary - calls and asks if I can speak Chinese.  I've studied a bit so I could sort of keep up a conversation, asked her to slow down and she said something about answering questions about a computer.  I apologized and said my Chinese wasn't good enough and she hung up on me....

My guess is they have telemarketers calling from China where the labour is cheap, every 10'th person or so can speak so it's still cost-effective way to reach people

I got a call from 85219890037 today Aug 6/10 at 426pm MST on my cell.  I did not answer the call.

Got a call from this number on Wednesday, and today... She asked I if speak chinese and she would like to do a survey with me... It felt weird and I told her on Wednesday that I was driving so I hang up on her, and she called again today, and I told her that the connection was really bad so I hang up on her again.

Damn they are stealing phone data??

Just got a call from this number. My number was on Koodo for about 4 years--never got a call from a scammer-- just moved the number to Roger's. So Roger's is selling my info?

Just got called. Calgary, Bell subscriber. I missed the call.

Ive had them call me on my business phone about 5 times (fido) and they called me today on my personal phone on rogers. I can't stand them any more and if anybody figures out what is going on and wants to pursue this further im in. Its the most annoying thing in the world! Today it was a call from +85, but ive had unkowns and the 00012 ones also. These people have no respect for anyone. Especially if they are trying to steal data or they have other illegal plans.

I've been getting this call as well...I don't pick-up for strange number's and/or restricted numbers...but was curious where this number was coming from...hence finding these posts...I live in Calgary and use Telus

I got a call from 852198890037 2 days ago but didn't pick upi.

I just got a missed call from that number. This thread came up, good thing I didn't answer. I am also in Calgary.

I am from Edmonton and am also with Fido. I got this call 5 mins ago. I picked up this phone call because I recognized the 852 and thought it might be a relative calling as I have a lot of relatives in China right now; Chinese lady asks if you can speak Chinese. I said yes, she went on this crazy rant in Mandarin, I told her I could only speak Cantonese and she hung up on me. Hope she's not stealing my data or my line. Have people who received this call before get charged for this call or noticed anything happening with their bill? Am tempted to call Fido and ask them about it!!
