This number called and left a message me saying they were calling from RBC debt collectors. I immediately panicked and I checked on this site and it seemed some people  were saying it was legit and others said it was a scam. I called them back, cautiously, and did not like the questions they were asking. I told them this and said I would call my bank through their posted 1-800. They said no problem. I called RBC and everything was fine with my accounts and when I gave him the number he checked it and said it was NOT an RBC number or related to RBC.

1-8552721205 is phishing for your client/credit card number.

1-855-272-1205  is a **** scam ****   using the name RBC Royal Bank COLLECTION.   They want your RBC client card or credit number number.

The RBC website even outlines a goodly number of scams that are associated with RBC. A simple google search of "RBC Scams" will turn that info up.

Yellow Pages Canada entry is interesting. Esp since they have a graph showing the reports on the calls is peaking right now. Seems to me that a legit number for debt collection would have a long and consistent history of calls, no abrupt increase as shown on the graph. Additionally, User reports on the YP site overwhelmingly associate this number with scammer calls.

This number does not readily appear on the RCB website. Seems odd to me.

Finally, there is your post. Reads almost like an advert. Do you always post long excuses and explanations about numbers you know are "pure legit"? I think you are shilling and your post has been reported.

To Future Readers - Be very careful about calls from this number. This number may be in play with scammers phishing for info or even trying to collect payments they claim are owed.
If you have unpaid debts to RCB, you are safer to call them yourself on a number you know is good.
