I want to know if this is really AOL collection department or some fraud company trying to get my credit card information. I have not had AOL in over 10 years.

This happend to us as well and we haven't had aol for at least 10 years.  I called the number and the woman said that she neede to ask a "security question"  Guess what it was...what is the last 4 numbers of your social security number.  So they really think people are that stupid???  No...this is not a real company and is blantant fraud.  Do not give them any information.  Also, you may not have noticed, but the AOL logo is not original, but instead is Aol. In small letters with a dot at the end.

I received a collection notice from Aol.
$77.88 past due since 12/31/79!
This is a scam! Please investigate this company!

I got a paper bill from them. saying a collection agency for aol. thank god they listed this phone number so I could see it was a scam!

Received a letter saying I have a payment AOL.Inc, 5110, PO Box 65105, Stirling, VA 32025-20165  or call 855-773-3913. Called the number and it was not in service.

Received a collection letter saying I have a payment 130 days past due, and noted this number for the Collection Department.  I called the number at 10:35 am on Thursday, and the answering machine said "You have reached us outside of normal business hours.  Please call back between 8 am and 11 pm, Mon-Fri, or 8 am and 11 pm on Sat."  Chalking this up as a scam.

Got a letter also saying 130 days past due.  Never had AOL - definite scam.  It said to call 855 877-3913 to speak to client service rep.

Also received a written bill - $9.99 for 130 days past due.  Had AOL up until a few months ago and they always charged my cc.  I'm assuming this is a fraud and are just trying to get information.

My parents received a bill from this crooks to the tune of $377.76.  Instructed my mother to write a certified letter requesting an itemized invoice for the charges.  Three days later, they receive a call stating that they are authorized to make a one time reduction in payment to $299.00 if they pay by credit card now.  Refused to and told them that they received a request for itemized bill and that nothing would be paid until it was received.  Received a second bill in the mail and I called them.  Explained the situation, and they told me that I could investigate if I wanted to.  Told them they were asked for an itemized bill, and was told that it would be duplicative of what I already had ~ told them I had nothing.  Mentioned the phone call for the reduced payment, and they asked "Is that what you would like to do now?"  Told them H*LL No, that I wanted an itemized invoice before 1 cent was paid to them.  They told me I could go to the website to look up the bill ~ not http://www.aol.com ~ but http://my.aol.com ~ at this point, knew it was a total scam and told my parents to hold on to the letters and send them to the news station "On Your Side" to investigate.  You would think that the companies would be ticked off that the scammers are using their name and logo to defraud people.

I also received a bill from “aol” for $75.96 from the.”aol collection Department.”this is a scam.

Received one, too.  Odd that is seems we are all 130 days overdue.  Definite scam.

God a paper invoice today.   I do have an AOL that I rarely look at and you would thing they would email me if I owed them money.  Thanks for all the info.  I will discard this and not bother calling.

Received a bill for $66.46 and looked up number and found this information.  They advised they would turn me over to a collection department.
