I got a call from a private number on my cell.  He said his name was Larry or Jerry Swaboda and he had just recieved a fax of bad checks and he had my full name and maiden name and gave me a case number in which the last four numbers of the case number was my SS#.  He told me to call 8558882803 and that this was my notice.  He sounded intimidating.  He did not identify who he was calling for. I called that number after hours and got the answering machine of Shadow Creek Capital.  I looked that up and I did not find a website for them but did find this:  SHADOW CREEK CAPITAL, LLC is a Miscellaneous Intermediation company located in Cheshire, Connecticut.  It was a find a business page and it said it had 2 employees.  The call did smell of a scam but am unsure.

Jan - I had the EXACT same message. I havent written any bad checks? He sounded scary... I'm ignoring it. I've had 2 companies call me & friends of mine saying I being sued for something & they give me a bank account number, which was wrong, like I'd correct them with the right account number. I have a feeling this is the same thing. Plus Larry kept saying it was for my married name & it was so long ago, that if anyone calls me by that name I know its a scam.

does any one have a busines address & fax for these people? Can't seem to find any info on them.

I just got this very same call. The guy said his name was David Williams. Did not give the "plaintiff name" just said to call back at the 855-888-2803, number which is their Corporate Office. Knowing full well I haven't written any bad checks, I'm not about to call them. But I am going to contact the Sheriff here in my County and make sure he hears this message and I am also giving him a copy of this website that I have printed off showing what all has been commented on this number. What disturbs me is the "Case number" he gave me has the same digits as my birthday and also the last four of my social security. How on earth did they receive this.The reason I'm pretty sure it is a scam is because IF by chance that I didn't have the money to cover a check in my account, I have it set up to be taken out of savings. And also I only use a debit or credit card and only write one check a month, and it clears every month!  I hope they catch these CROOKS!!!!!

Got the same message but from a woman. Said I had written some bad checks and this was my only opportunity to take care of it. Gave me this number to call and get my "case number". The only checks I've written all year are for rent and those have cleared or I wouldn't be sitting in my apartment right now!

What I think it is, is some oustanding credit I owe from a few years ago. They just use the "bad check" thing as a scare tactic because you can go to jail for writing bad checks. Whatever is they won't ever get a callback from me!

i got a call but didnt answer it i finally checked my voicemails and yeah id agree the guy sounded ligit but i knew i hadnt wrote checks for anything for over two years so yeah i dont wish this call on anybody but i do hope this will be investigated and taken care of.

My daughter has been receiving these calls to her cell (in my name) for at least the past two years and they ask for me.  She would usually ignore b/c she was in class during the day when they'd call and the number never came up on the display.  The few times she's answered she tells them they have the wrong number but they keep calling back.  Recently she got a voice message and it had the same or similar information as was given by other callers on this page:  This is David Williams, here's your plaintiff number (not anyone's bday or ss#), call this number to speak to the plaintiff at 866-782-9808.  When I called the number tonight the recording stated the business was Shadow Creek Capital and their business hours are Tuesday thru Thursday, 9am-7pm.  Seems very shifty.  Not sure why they'd put that much time into calling someone for years???

I have dealt with this company.  Actually after you get past the goon that calls, they were very easy to work with.  Mine was a legitimate debt and after making payments and paying it off, I got a legal letter saying my debt was paid in full and they removed the debt from my credit reports.  I know some of you are going to say I work for them, etc...  I don't but just wanted to let you know that they were not so bad to work with but the goon that called initially was very threatening.  The reason they say you wrote a bad check is that if it is a debt from a company where you had set up automatic payments via your bank account and then quit funding, the company will or often do report it as a bad check.

they do not even have the right to post to your credit report if they do get it removed they do not have the license or bonds to touch your credit

They called me and i dont even have checks i got a loan  2 years ago but im wondering r they real i was told i would be served dont need that

I just got this call from Paul stating is be served and I'm so scared. He gave me phone number 855-824-4718. Said I needed to call them and resolve my issue so I don't get served. I keep calling and no reply. So I left a vm! And I've never had check and it might be some loan, but there's so much wrong in this world. I can't believe I would be accused of fraud.   Did they ever talk to you? !!?
