Hi All,

Just to let you all know what had happened. Of course I'm safe now.

I was about to transfer the amount back to the account, that Neetu Singh gave me.
And when I googled I found out that she/he is a fraud.

Then, I went to the bank where I deposited the cheque she sent and let them know that "I deposited a cheque which I got from a fraud and what can I do now". Then, the bank people told that it is a dummy cheque and they were to deduct that $3000 from my account next day.

So, Neetu Singh's intension is if some one deposits back the excess amount to her before realizing that she is a fraud or the cheque is bounced back - she gets some cash for free.
I'm not sure about that bank account that she gave - how she would be safe or something.
This is some strange play.

I got this message and she had sent me a check too.
But fortunately, I didn't deposit and I kept on asking her to call me.
But she lost the money she spent on sending the check in priority mail.

And one more thing for folks who might have given their bank account details.
One of my farthest friend (friends' friend's friend) gave her account details. And Neetu Singh got a dummy check on my friends account number and sent it to me (Not sure how she got a dummy check). That is the check I deposited in my account. Eventually money was deducted from her account and got deposited in my account. When it was caught to be a dummy check, she got her money back. And I paid $30 as the check is dummy and bounced back :(

The scamer wants us too send the 'extra' money after deducting the rent to some of their account. The clearing of her check will take 2-3 days, but the bank will deposit give a little part say $100 into your account as soon as you deposit. This makes you to believe that the check is good. Then you deposit the extra amount to their account through western union money transfer. After three days when the bank returns the check as fake you realize that you've been cheated.

Keerthi This is a scam.Iam also a victim of this.I believe we can track this person and then see what we can do.Whats the agent details he has given to send money to.Lets go to cops and log a complaint.

i just got some couple of email chains on the same case

I got a similar mail recently and they are still in contact with me.. i did not deposit the check in the bank but luckily i figured out it is a scam before hand..I want them to be tracked down and save the innocents..

The moment I read it I knew its a scam then did a little research to find it was true. Scammer is smart but not smart enough to change the verbiage on the emails. I got this response below on my Rentals ad, even after I emphasized that room is available for a male, she was ready to take it, here name she said is Vidya Patel. Which was hard to believe, Indian girls you can't make to live with some unknown male right away. hehe. Finally as she asked for my address, I replied with  TN Cybercrime cell's address.

I can't believe this is a scam. Just today, I have been emailing with the very same person Vidya Patel <patelvidy1983@yahoo.com> asking for accommodation even though I said I prefer only males as roommate in the advt. She mentioned she is in Mexico and provided the following details for money transfer. I asked her not to send the cheque. She sent the cheque via UPS. I looked at the tracking number she provided. It was held at a UPS warehouse for some investigation. Not sure what was going on!! Later she sent the check via USPS mail. Once I emailed her that I received the check, she was after me to cash the check, deduct the rent and send the balance to her agent's account. She provided the following details -

She also mentioned the same company that someone has mentioned before - GlobalOne and she said she is head of the Marketing Dept.

I still have the check. The check had the name as Steve R Burns which has nothing to do with GlobalOne company, that's the time I had some doubts and realized it is a scam.

I have been googling for these names for quite some time to see if anyone has reported scams on these names.

Finally I could find it on this page. Thanks everyone for posting this.

I got a call from the same person, asking for sub lease.She said " She is Mexico for some project and will be joining for sublease" same thing, not bothered about the apt, but asked for pictures of apt and i sent.

Also She took 900$ from me. GAve me 2 cheques which bounced.
