I'm from VA too and I recently filled out a survey for an amazon gift card from cox as i have cox. and i got a call yesterday and today from this number as well..

I am also a Cox customer. I just don't answer these calls, and they've slowed down on calling me. They started a week or two ago, but I think I won't get calls after this week.

Just submitted info to FCC concerning this number. I been getting the same calls. I stayed on the line to hear the entire message. They mention Cox Cable at the end. Metro News is affiliated with the Union Tribune in San Diego. That number is a SD number, but I don;t do business with UT. I do have a Cox Cable account though. If you have Cox, I bet your info either got hacked or they sold it.

Been getting calls from this number several times a day for the last few days. No voicemail. Finally started answering and getting automated msg from Metro News Service, calling on behalf of Cox Cable, my local provider. The automated message prompts to call 877-937-3030 for more information about the purpose of the call. Have not called yet--waiting to use a Google voice number or other anonymous method--but the calls from 858-751-7503 continue. (Cox Cable is my ISP)

Also got a call from this number.  Many times.  Added to my blacklist.  This is ridiculous!  I am in VA and also a Cox Cable customer.

I also got the same call. After reading all the message thread, it seems like it is a COX think. I also live in VA, but my number is out of state.

Someone keeps calling my CELL phone from this number, but never leaves a message.  I don't know anyone in SanDiego, California - so I just don't answer this call.  I have tried using reverse phone directories online, but all I get is that it's an unlisted number. Please put me on Do Not Call list. Thanks

agree it must be cox.  live in northern va and a cox subscriber, but have an out of state cell number that they call.

I too am in Virginia - though I have an out of state cell phone number I am a Cox Internet customer.
Would love to know if this is originating from Cox or if someone has hacked their records. If hacked and they got my cell number who's to say they don't have my credit card information as well?

Curious if other Cox customers who have posted in here set up their service directly with Cox or through the service that Dominion links you through to when you move to the area and set up your power service???

858 751 7503 calls and hangs up.  sounds like a middle east recket to conduct fraud

I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia but have a Chicago cell phone number. I've received 2 calls this morning from this number. I too have Cox as my ISP. I'm going to answer the next time they call.

Just leaves messages that make no sense
reported to donotcall.gov since my cell is on the do not call list

Spoke with Monica for a long time. I love talking to these people because they make commission when they have us upgrade our service. She was going by her script and was very uneducated in her products. She had no idea what the installation consisted of, but knew it was a $200 value LOL. She couldn't tell me what some interactive guide that allowed you to not watch commercials was. I had her really frustrated by the end of the call that she kept saying the same thing. Call your local office, blah blah blah. The number she gave me to reach her was 1-877-937-3030. I googled this number and nothing came up. Also said she was calling from Denver. Anyway, if you want to have a good time with these people, just ask them difficult questions and keep them on the phone. If they're talking to you, they can't make commission off of somebody else.

Forgot to mention that she was trying to upgrade me from my internet to internet/TV/phone bundle.

It doesn't matter if your number is on the do not call list. I'm assuming you have Cox. Because you "do business" with Cox, they're allowed to have people call you with promotions etc. She asked me about how I liked my service and I told her I didn't, but she went into her script anyway.

Just got a call from this number and I am in VA. Across the country

Just got two phone calls today from them. I didn't pick up. I think the line is hooked to a computer that randomly generates phone numbers. But wonder what is the reason to call if they always hand up. ???

Have had a couple of hang-ups from that number today.
Can't the phone company block annoyances like this?

I called the # back and it is a company who telemarkets offers for Cable, Newspapers and other services.
