Who calls from this number - what is the purpose?
Is this spam? Abuse?
Why is there even a web site for this?

It's definitely Citi Cards. You probably need to pay your credit card bill.  I just got off the phone with them :(

Apparently someone that used to have my number owes someone money because I get calls from about 10 of these a day and they all say that they will take my number off the list but never do. If these guys are calling on your cell phone (as they are on mine), store the number and default their ringtone as "none". I have a bunch of them saved on my cell and their ringtone as "none" so they can call all they want to and I never hear it. Works great for me.

This number calls my house everyday saying that I owe Citibank money. They call and hang up. They call at unusual hours. Then they ask me for my credit card number. Harrassment!!!!!!

The call comes from Citi-Card. However, its fully automated to frequently it's calling many phones at once, and if someone answers it connects the person to a call center representative that's available. That also means that it hangs up on everyone else that picks up. Furthermore, the department at the call center that run the automated system isn't there on weekends, but they don't turn it off. So basically you'll get harassed by these phone calls until you call back on a weekday and pay them. If you can only pay by check you'll get harassed all week long and over the weekends. Turning off  your phone is the only solution. Until of course you've payed off the card. Then the solution is to cancel your account with any company with such degrading and morally objectionable business practices.

Stop calling or leave a message you cowards!!!

I keep getting this phone number on my cell as well as my land line.  I would simply like to know who this number belongs to.  There is just a number and no identifying name.

I have a citi card and my acct. is current.  They have called my job multiple times today!!!! I called them and told them to take my work number off of my account and then 20 minutes later they called my job again!

i used to get pissed...now i answer the phone and just start talkining about the weather or where they are from....sometimes i answer and act like a little kid...or talk all jumbled so they can't understand me...if you have time, answer the call....just don't answer any of their questions. it's very fun indeed!!

and btw...i don't have a citi card...i just keep them busy and waste their time....hahaha
try it at least once and see if you can stop at one. betcha can't!!

this number have been calling me everyday on my cell....i dont have a citi card with them but yet i get the calls......cant even block the out on my cell.....guess ill just leave them calling and keep ignoring

Citibank is the worse bank out there...They take it upon themselves to close your account even when you're current. Then, on their web page, if your account is closed, they won't allow you to send emails to their customer service representative. I have been lied to by their reps, managers, etc. They totally suck and that includes any citicards and home depot cards..Consumers, let's ban together and tell Citibank to go scratch!

It's Citi...I have two cards with them.  Due to issues with other cardmembers, they cut my limit to $200 above my balance and I've never been late, ever.  They said they are trying to lower their risk.

Citibank Collections, take the call and tell them a compelling sad story or pay up, they ain't gonna just stop calling.

Got a call from 8582838073 at 8:50am on 3/27/10. Answered the called. "Heard" complete silence for about 30 sec, then the line was cut off.

Particularly.when.it.does.not.look.anything.like.a."business.number"..
Any.idea.on.how.to.stop.this.harassment??
