This is a scam. I received a letter claiming this was the number of United Collections Bureau, Inc. I called the company that had legitimately collected my debt and confirmed that no collection account had been transferred (it had been paid). When I looked up this fraudulent company's number, the site (not mentioned in the letter) does not point to this number. It points to 800-866-6228. BBB's scam ratings point to 419 866-6227 and 1-866-209-0622. I called 866.769.4084 and they did not pick up. I called the number on the site and they claimed I had an account with them  (I called claiming to be legal counsel) and that they are Better Business Bureau accredited (neither of which is true!).

They threatened me, trying to phish for information. Don't buy it. Call your original debtor or collector first.

I got a call from this number this week and just today got to calling them back. It is indeed for a collection agency and the gentleman I spoke with was extremely polite and as nice as could be. He wasn't able to take my payment but made sure I got to the right person. They didn't ask for my whole social, they didn't ask any intimidating questions and didn't at any point make me think they were scammers. I paid my bill and that was that. No problems, no concerns, and most importantly... they gave good customer service to me.

you think is scam just because they dont answear the phone? be honest and pay for the service that you receive, stop doing excuses!

This is a sham.  To those on this board who say "Pay your bills", why are you on this board unless you've been called too?
My husband has been hounded for 3 months for a $37.00 bill he supposedly owes to a Toledo Hospital he has NEVER been to nor had services provided from.  They have had our name misspelled and the address wrong. No matter who he talks to they say "It's just $37.00"  Yes, but we don't OWE it!  We have called the Hospital to confirm we owe them nothing.  We have asked these people twice over the last 3 months to send us something in writing, making sure they  have the correct address and guess what?  NOTHING! Next step is BBB.

Ohio is a one party state... you don't have to inform them they are being recorded...

This number is a scam.  They were rude on the phone and said they could not see my number when i called.  I spoke with a man with an African accent. If they are electronically connected they should be able to see who is calling since my number is listed.  I have no outstanding bills and have received no mail notification  of such. I think they target people who give them information so they can steal identities.
