got a $16.20 charge on my cc account today. these ppl are thieves!!! with so many ppl reported them, i can't believe they are still around stealing money!!!!

This is the fourth time my credit card bill shows a charge from The Bargain Stop in Tarzana.  This particular card never leaves the drawer and is used only for monthly bills like cable, the gym, etc.  When I dispute the charges with Citibank, I always get the charges reversed via a credit, but I guess they are unwilling to stop accepting charges from TBS because, hey, they get a percentage each time someone pays one of the bogus amounts! They've got no incentive to stop these folks from stealing--it's not coming out of their pockets! If you look up the address for this operation, it's an apartment, so it can't be operating legitimately, and whoever heard of getting "stone setting" of any sort done for less than $20?  It's a total SCAM!!!

Got an unauthorized charge for roughly $16, when I called my credit card company they said whomever made the purchase had the card present during the transaction, which is impossible because I was out of town.

I tried calling the number and there is only a recorded message that says "Hello, thank you for calling the Bargain Stop, your friendly one-stop shop...". It then prompts you to press *1 to place an order, *2 for returns or *3 for some other option, and it only leads to a voice mailbox.

Just wanted to update this page so people are aware this is still happening and this business is somehow still fraudulently charging innocent people.

I HAVE CONFIRMED WITH THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY ASSESSOR'S OFFICE THAT THE OWNER OF UNIT #204 IS KATHLEEN ANNE HILL.  HER HOME ADDRESS IS:

ALI GANDJI LIVES IN THE CONDO AND IS LISTED AS THE OWNER OF THE BARGAIN STOP

The Bargain Stop really does operate out of the address listed on the BBB website.  It is a fake company, but they really are at 18645 Hatteras Street, Unit #204, Tarzana, CA 91356.  This is a condominium unit in a large complex.  I filed an on-line complaint with the Attorney General at this link:

They sent The Bargain Stop a letter regarding my complaint and gave them 30 days to respond.  Jack Perrier from The Bargain Stop did respond to the complaint with some fake excuse for why I was charged by them on my credit card when I hadn't purchased anything.  Both the Calif Attorney General and The Bargain Stop mailed a copy of the letter to me.  I was shocked that The Bargain Stop actually responds to mail at this address.  The response letter even had the 18645 Hatteras St #204 in their letter head.  They also included a money order for $16.69 which is the amount they fraudulently charged to my credit card.  The letter was poorly written with many spelling errors and grammatical mistakes.  According to public record, Kathaleen A. Hill owns this condominium.  You can check this out at the LA County Tax Assessor.  Her mailing address is listed as:

Since she owns this condominium, she knows the person renting the unit or is possibly part of the scheme.  It is very important that the authorities notify her.

I recommend that everyone files an on-line complaint with The Calif Attorney General.  We need to bombard Jack Perrier (General Manager) and Ali Gandji (Owner) of The Bargain Stop with complaints.  Please also contact Kathaleen Hill by mail at the address given above.  I also suggest calling Sandy Reed at Encore Enterprises and ask her to contact Kathaleen Hill regarding your complaint.

The Bargain Stop needs to be stopped.  The police are doing nothing, the credit card companies are doing nothing.....we must FIGHT BACK!!
