they called my for my dad who was not there. i havent lived with them for over 20 years. I called them back and told them my name. they couldn't find me and then asked if they could get my social. I asked , "who are you?".
"I'm not giving you my social until I know who you are."
"We are General Revenue Services"
"What do you do?'
"Sir, can I get your social."
"That's not happening until I know why you are calling."
"Please hang on a second."
The phone went dead. Sallie Mae is my guess. Wonder why they are so wierd about it though?

Scam!!!   This call was really weired. A woman called said I had a student loan, which I know I don't. She asked my birthday and soc.I gave her my b day and told her I wasn't giving my soc. she said she need to verify . She kinda stutered repeated herself and said there must b someone else with my name.but now she has my info and im scared

received a vm from this number leaving a reference number but they didn't say who they were calling for. I called them back. I told them i had a vm but didn't think the message was left at the right number. He asked my name, i only gave him my first name. He asked what number was called and i gave him the number and he said who he was looking for, whom i had never heard of so he told me he would take the number off the list. he was very nice and i dont expect to hear from them again.

They will eventually garnish your wages if you don't pay them, it happened to me. They are a legitimate company trying to collect funds from a defaulted student loan.

You may say they are a legit company but they called my number for someone I never heard of, were very rude and the woman wanted to verify the info she GAVE me this persons birthday and social asking if it was correct, luck I record ALL my calls. After that I let it go to voice mail, now they leave this persons info on my VM which is stored forever, the leave a balance owed and I have noticed it fluctuates in a random manner, on month after first VM it went up 12.00 the next couple weeks it went up about 20 then two weeks after that it jumped 1500.00. Spoke to my lawyer, for harassment and minutes on my cell, since they call almost every day and we are searching for this person,, If I find them my lawyer seems to think if they owed the amount said that they might actually make money due to repeatedly giving out their private financial information, on a recording and the one I have with the persons social, birthday and whatever else it was she said. I wouldn't trust them. If they call you and you do have a loan or debt contact the original creditor never ever pay or deal with a collector you that that right by law and if you send the payments to the creditor then the collector doesn't get paid, just record everything, take pictures scan of all documentation and phone calls, incoming and outgoing, and save everything in triplicate then contact a lawyer.

Receiving curt phone calls. Call back number is not the one they leave. From other complaint sites it appears they are a student loan collection agency. Haven't had one for 40 years. Another family member is getting the calls and never had one.

Received 2 calls from this number. Left messages both times and said that I was used as a reference for my nephew. The  person left a msg code and her name.  I am glad I looked on this page to find out that it was a Collection Agency for student  loans. I never returned the call because the caller did not specify WHY she was calling.
