Am getting 5 to 6 calls a day, caller ID says syncrony. Never heard of that so did not answer, then  I began getting message once a day stating they were calling in reference to walmart Mastercard for me to call them at this number. I have no Mastercard, no credit with Walmart so I have not called the number. My husband answered one time and it was a foreigner and he hung up on them. I am truly fed up and sooner or later I will find the right agency to put an end to it.

The recording said it was walmart and asked for private information

I have a Walmart card in good standing ad this number called and asked for private info.

Who is this? They call my cell phone a dozen times a day. Very annoying

Got a text saying:

FreeMsg: Synchrony Bank. Your Walmart Mastercard acct is past due. This is to collect a debt, info will be used for that purpose. Call 8663149507 or go to walmart.com/credit. To Opt out reply STOP

I have never had a Walmart Card and have never heard of Synchrony Bank. I looked up Walmarts Credit Card help line-- which is a different number than the one in the text!-- and they said they had no record of me on any card.

No they probably don't. I got these calls and I do not have a Walmart or Discover card. It seems that you got a call too since you are posting here.  Shall we jump to conclusions like you did and assume that you owe them money and that's why you think everyone else who got these calls does too?

This is clearly a scam call aimed at getting your credit information.  The voicemail I got said they were from Walmart Credit.  I have no Walmart card so I never returned the call and it is now blocked on my phone.

Same thing almost happened to me today.  I did not give them any account number, and I am shocked that these scammers are still around.  Looks like they have been doing this since 2008.

Stated they were from Walmart and that my account was past due.  I pay my bill every month what is due from my e-statement.  So, naturally my scam alert went off.  I DID not give them my account number to pay whatever they said was owed, and am surprised that these yayhoos have not been caught even after 10 years.  Real credit companies do not call you -- they send you things in the mail.
