Unknown caller, Calls & hand up as previous post.

What do they "hand up" to you during the call?

They call & hang up; there's a scam that works like this: They call and hang up. You then call back to see what they want and that call gets charged with a fee to your phone number (just as if you call a 900 number). I have a sneaky suspesion this is what's happening here as many people are complaining about hanging up. Why else would they spend time and money calling people only to hang up??? Don't call them back!!

You make it sound as if people are sitting there dialing numbers over and over. Software makes the call which costs them nothing to make. So no time or money involved and what you are describing is simply an abandoned call. If you don't know what an abandoned call is you can use the internet to learn all about it.

They claimed to be Bell Canada when they called me and ended up hanging up after asking to talk to me. What’s weird is that they had my name…

They are calling to offer a Cell Phone promotion. Is it really the case? I do not need to switch provider so I stopper there.

It is probable this is a phishing scam, they are after your payment info. If you ARE looking for a new carrier and better deals, call the carriers yourself on numbers you know are good.

They are calling me practically everyday now. They never leave any messages.
