These are scammers pretending to be from Citibank. The fraud was associated with my Costco credit card. Do not call them back

FRAUD just talked to CITI and they verified that do not accept anything from this number.

Same experience as above.  The woman called from 605-731-3772 phone number and told me to call back at 866-385-5122 to discuss fraudulent charges to my card.  I googled both numbers and the 866 number was reported as fraud/scam.  They called and left a voicemail.  "Angela" said she was calling from something Security Investigations regarding charges on my credit card.  Googled the 800 number and saw reports of fraud/scam associated with the phone number.   Called the number on the back of my card only to discover that the number was not listed within the company directory.  Full report was made.  The concerning thing is that they had my phone number and they knew the type of credit card.  Folks, always call the number on the back of your card!

This is Legit.   I get calls all the time from credit card companies (at work) who have clients wanting to dispute a charge or is questioning it.   Angela called me today to verify a charge from April.    (a deposit on a reservation)  Very professional and totally not a scam.

I did call the customer service # on back of card and was directed to call this number!! What the heck??

Received voice message from Citi Bank fraud CustServ saying they sent letter for response and haven’t heard back....

Fraud. Received two calls from this number. Caller left two messages pretending to be from CitiBank Security Operations calling about recent dispute and asked to call back another number - 8664427479. I had a recent fraudulent activity on my card so I called back to CitiBank using the number printed on my card. They confirmed that they are not trying to reach me for any reason and have no knowledge of that number.

This is a SCAM--no ifs, ands, or buts!   And, all of the entries in this thread that claim it actually is Citibank fraud security are either: (1) people who are PART OF THE SCAM  (and if you don't think these scammers are complex enough to go post fake entries on websites like this, I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona I'd like to sell you); or (2) people who fell for the scam.  Of course it sounds like Citibank when you call.  The Scam wouldn't have worked for the last 5 - 10 years or more if it wasn't elaborate.  The call I got was from 866-385-5122 telling me to call 866-442-7479.  Same story as others:  when I called the number on the back of my card instead, Citibank told me it was an old scam.

Called from 866-385-5122 (spoofed?)regarding fraud on Citibank card and a letter I had not responded to regarding the fraud, funny thing I did have fraud last month over $1000. worth and got a new card and case is closed.. Seems like an inside person is helping with this scam. said to call 866-442-7471 within 24 hours, so tired of these bottom feeders!

Voicemail from Leonard with CitiBank Security Services about fraudulent charges on my Costco card. Interestingly enough, I had called the week before to cancel my card and get a new one. Tried to call the number that called me back & the recording said to call the number left on the voicemail which was 866-385-5122.

I also had a phone call from this Phone Number 866-385-5122 From Bernard, from Citi Security Operations claiming to be investigating fraud charges related to my Citi Credit Card, the Number he called me from was listed as 904-954-1207, I called that number and their voice mail message stated, "thank you for calling Citi this number does not accept incoming calls".

Maybe or maybe not. What if the number is being spoofed?
There are posts here that I believe are honest reports that the number is used by scammers.
AND there are posts that are unquestionably are from shills.
I would be very careful about calls from or to this number; be careful about what info you offer or confirm.
