- brenda replies to Pamjust got a call like that too
- Angie| 4 repliesI also received a call from this number (at my work) stating it was Goldstone Associates and wanted to verify my place of employment so they could serve me. They wouldn't tell me what for. But also earlier in the day I received a call from a Mitigation company called JAA (James Aldwell & Associates) stating there was a credit card I supposedly never paid from 2007 so I am in "Breach of Contract" and owe $6,000 with interest and penalties. When I stated I have outstanding credit and this was never on my credit report she said I probably just didn't monitor it at that time but if I read the fine print on a credit card when I signed up I would see that it states I'm in breach of contract if I don't pay these charges. When I asked for documentation she said "it had been previously sent years ago and they have my previous addresses to prove it was mailed but no documentation since they are just the mitigation company and if they go back to tell their client they need more documentation it would prompt said client to move forward with legal action. Then a few hours later is when I received this call from "Goldstone & Assoc." about serving me with papers. It sounds fishy, like a scam but I cannot confirm our deny. Just wondering if anyone has actually been served. Thoughts?

- It’s a scam replies to AngieIt’s a scam. I went through the same thing several years ago. If they are going to ‘serve’ you they are not going to give you a heads up. Just ignore it. These criminals need to get a real job
- PhilGot the same thing from this number, they even contacted my girlfriend and repeated the same thing, glad to see it may be a scam , this was 1/29/25 and one today 2/3/25 they mispronounced my

- B-Edwards replies to AngieThat is one the scripts used by Phony Debt Scammers. Looks like they are working in a Process Service Scam angle as well. Ugly stuff.
Do NOT call them back, that only keeps them calling and they will get nasty. Block the number, and keep your eye on your Caller ID before answering unknown calls.
This is the work of one scammer. There are no papers. No one is coming to serve you. What they said is a not so veiled threat to scare you into paying what you do not owe.Quote:When I asked for documentation she said "it had been previously sent years ago and they have my previous addresses to prove it was mailed but no documentation since they are just the mitigation company and if they go back to tell their client they need more documentation it would prompt said client to move forward with legal action. Web Searches for both James Aldwell & Associates and Goldstone & Assocaites do not turn up addresses for companies with those names. Sort of a red flag. - Fred HooverReceived a call went to voicemail. They said I had important documents to sign to get a lien off my property. I have no liens.

- Rene replies to Angie| 1 replySame thing happened to me yesterday. A payday loan from 15 years ago. I did not recognize the company and she listed other pay day loans that it could be under; which was odd. Almost word for word of what you said from JAA. I stated regardless this is way past the statute of limitations. She said yes it was but i was in "breach of contract" I felt like she reading off of something stating an old back account i haven't had in 10 years, old addresses from 10+ years ago. I asked them to mail me the verification of debt letter and she said she couldn't mail it out again because it was sent a while ago but she emailed me and it had letterhead and it seemed like a scam. At the end it states to send a certified check to the JAA. And the amount on the letter is different than what she said on the phone. the next day she stated i had to contact them by the end of the day or the debt would be sent back to the client and i would get a summons. And she only wanted me to call her back at her ext and not call the main office of JAA; which was odd to me as well.
- Rene replies to Rene*I meant to say the email had no letterhead.
