this number was calling every half hour for 3 hours.  I finally answered:

acc: "Hello?"......long pause

acc: "Hello?"

866: "Hello?"

acc: "Um, yes, Hello?"

866: "Hello?  Is acc there?"

acc: "May I ask who's calling?"

866: "What?!?"

acc: "May I ask who's calling?"

866:  "A Charity!"

acc: "I would like to be taken off this list please."

866:  ----------------


Yes, it's true- they wouldn't even identify what charity, and were pretty rude overall.  I don't know who comes up with these phone call scams, but its no wonder they need money with their dumb*ss lack of courtesy and common sense.

I hope I finally solved this problem. I just received ANOTHER call from this number. I asked to speak to a supervisor. Finally, someone else came on the line. I, calmly, but firmly, told him that I had already asked to be put on their "do not call" list, and for him to please take care of that for me. I have his name and the date and time he called. So, hopefully, if it happens again, I can file a complaint to someone, somewhere.

These people called twice and were rude both times I asked to be removed from their cold calling list. Then engaged in an argument saying it was not a cold calling list that they had spoken to my husband. They just said they were calling about a charity he had committed to supporting. One for dying children. Still I asked not to be called. Please put me on their Do not call list. Tried to call back the number that was on my caller id. No human answered. Said Cancer Fund of America. I left a message again to be removed. I will never donate to this charity

A week or so later... another two calls, same MO from another number, 866-341-9739. They were rude and told me I was being mean because I asked them not to call me at home. I asked the caller for her home number and I would call her while in the middle of dinner to argue with her. I thought it was amusing! Called back and got the same MO as before. No human. Recording telling me it's The Youth Development Fund. I will never donate to this charity either.

I just went on the Cancer Fund of America website.  I called the 800 number and got an immediate answer.  I told them about this phone number, and they are not affiliated with the Cancer Fund of America.  I was tremendously thanked. I told her that someone is collecting money in their name and it should be reported. Let's wait and see.
