    hick from the tick
    Rogers Wireless A/R

Will call incessantly. Sometimes back to back, I've even had 4 calls in a row and 12 in one day. Finally answered after being harassed for a week.

    You owe us money
I owe you nothing yet as I still don't have a bill
We sent your bill on Jan 27
I only signed up on Jan 28 and my online account shows no bill
We'll send you a new copy
Just update my account and stop calling me. You won't get a cent until I see a bill and can verify the charges
Would you like to set up an auto payment plan
    In your dreams!

Eventually they updated my account and to my amazement there were bogus charges. So Rogers, for trying to take advantage of me, [***] You!

    just called back this number
Hi I just called back this number and it brought me to Rogers Credit and Account department.  She asked me if I needed help with something and I said 'no, you called me, and i'm just calling back'  and she said 'well it looks like your account is current so we were probably calling you as a courtesy call to confirm if your address is correct'.  I have no idea why they needed to confirm my address, but I did and she said she'd make sure I don't get anymore calls from their automated service.  So maybe you can call it back and request to have the automated calls stop.  I hope this helps!

Both 416-645-2105 and 866-417-9498 are the ROGERS CREDIT DEPARTMENT. If you call the 866 number, avoiding lost distance charges, you will be connected to an operator from their credit department. I took the risk of giving them my name and current telephone number, indicating that I do not have any Rogers services (I'm on Virgin pay-as-you-go). She checked several databases and then said, "We won't be bothering you anymore." I wanted to know why it was happening, and she told me that my number had been previously used by someone else with an unpaid balance, and that's why it was being called.

Here's what I think is happening -- After number portability came into effect, it became easy for people to pick up new contracts with other providers, and Rogers was getting a lot of people just abandoning their accounts when they jumped to someone else. They don't have sufficient leverage to go after them, there's too many I guess; you can read about it here:

    http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2010/01/21 ... er-porting.html

My guess is that until the CRTC takes their request to have the other companies pay out the overdue accounts they're left holding, Rogers has cranked up their collections to the point of badgering total strangers that happen to have numbers ANYWHERE in their databases.

Hey Everyone I just thought you would all like to know after a court orders the phone number 1-866-417-9498 does not belong to Roger as everyone thought it belongs to  a firm called N.C.O.
A contact number for senior management is Mr. Bob Discante 514-850-2075

After receiving dozen and dozens of harassing phone calls from them (22 in one day) for a debit that has nothing to do with me i took them to court. Now they have to pay me big time.

I suggest everyone else do the same there is a long history with this firms and the courts.
It should also be noted i suggest you record the calls from them.As folks like Maranda Devau, Camilla Boodoosingh and Sandy Garden lie, they will tell you all kinds of stories i caught them several times.

Here is a link to their web site http://www.ncogroup.com

Best of luck to all with this scum of a company..

AGENTBLU replies to Not a customer
In regards to your statement about receiving calls when your not a customer, what happens is a customer is required to provide an alternative contact # when they sign up for service. Weather you know that person or its a wrong # on rogers records isn't known until the situation is discussed then the # can be removed from the record if the home owner request it. Easy as that

If you don't pay your bill, you will be called to arrange payments.
If you do not know who they are calling about and you answered on a landline, tell them to please remove the number, it will be removed.
If you do not give a firm arrangement they will call back up to 5 times in a day (Canadian law allows this, per line)
All you need to do to have the calls stop is confirm it is you, tell them the amount, the date and the method of payment and the calls will stop completely, unless you miss your arrangement.

You have to be over 18 to sign a contract with any company, so being an adult, act like an adult, take 45 seconds out of your day to deal with business you are responsible for and get it dealt with.

I agree, it's annoying as hell, but it's life, deal with the issue and it will easily go away.
The only reason the calls go out is because you're behind on your bill, and it hasn't shown in their system.

It's a simple solution, you are just making it a bigger deal than it needs to be.

If they are calling the wrong cell phone, speak to them and have them change the primary contact number.
If you're not getting your bill, confirm your address, if that doesn't work, bother Canada Post.
Just deal with the issue, that's the way to make these things go away.

    Just some common sense.

You sound Like a rogers lacky my Guess would be you are employed by NCO as well! in fact its prolably Miranda or Janina herself well Rogers tends to push everything off on antoher dept the primary number that is called can NOT be changed at all and this is not told to the customer.
I cant count how manny calls I had where I have to tell them you have to call customer care (who realy does not care) 90% of all rogers business is outsourced and is not in fact rogers at all but companys who act on behalf of rogers. so You get pushed off to the cxc line who push's you off to tech support who might push you off to retention!
I have had 10's of thousands of accounts in my 4 years at NCO (on behalf of rogers/fido) where the customer has in fact made arrangments already but because its a dialer system it does not take them out of the system untill a day later. Or where the coustomer has been with Rogers for 4 years or more and has NEVER missed or been late on a single payment then as soon as they are late on one payment we start calling to find out when they will be paying it!
Then they was the system is set the customer will get another call the day before they are supose to make the pymnt as a "reminder call"  It is harassment if you have made arrangments already and still recieve another call and I encourage everyone this happens to to contact Rogers office of the president your local MP and if you can take the time to file a lawsuit chances are you will win! Also send a personal call/email to Bob Disante whos contact info is listed above oh or you could send it to miranda.deveau@ncogroup.com im sure she will get it there! :)
Another thing Rogers is terriable for is your first bill. say on jan 1st you started the contract there first bill would go out on the 3rd but they never send there first bills on time because its not a full billing cycle. However you would still get the calls as soon as your bill is 2 days late and of course they would blame canada post because then again it push's the blame off their shoulders!
so in closing I would just say DONT go with rogers there are so manny other more reputable cell phone companys out there now that they are slowly going down. And next time you get a call from a rogers employee have them remove your home number from file and see if you can find out exactly what company they are actualy calling from.

Please be careful with any calls recieved from NCO or these parisites named Janina or Miranda. They are both horrible liars and will do whatever it takes to get whatever it is they need.
Get to the source when you can and always record names, dates and times when places and people like this call you.

The only thing this company knows is how to harrass you day and night. What they do deserve is envelopes of Anthrax spores and boxes of pipe bombs as payment for an inferior, completely unprofessional service.
