I was getting so many calls from various sources that were not on my "want to talk to' list, that I shut off my answer machine, and if I don't know the number, I don't answer.  My (friendly) contacts now call me on my mobile, where they can leave a message.  Fortunately, I have been free from anoyance calls there... so far.  If we stop giving them what they want, maybe, just maybe, they won't waste their time on your phone #...???

Got the call many many times now, and each time I picked up, no answer, then called again. I have stopped answer the call. It's very anoying

this is a credit bureau for in my case Star choice satilite and it is very annoying 80% of the time thier dialer is running way to fast and wait time for some one to pick up is up to 15 min and if you wait 1 full minute with silence in your ear it will come on with a recording that says press "9" to continue to hold or call some phone # at your convience like as if you had made the call in the first place.and the one time i finally got to talk to someone they were very rude and said i was always hanging up on thier company. and then told me i was acting immature by my actions and then told me they had called me 73 times and i had hung up on them every time....

still getting calls from same number, though i refused their cibc credit card offer on very first call. now somebody calls and never speaks up!. its always silence and I have to hang up , because on other side neither he/she speaks nor hangs up.

This number is now showing up on my call display in the small Eastern Ont. town I reside in. My policy. Never pick up unless I know who is calling.

I just called the VOXDATA 1-800 number listed below and asked to be taken off their list.  I guess I will see if they actually stop calling but the lady was very friendly and said she would remove my number.

Seveal times a day, dead air. No longer answering.

They keep on calling my cell, and I never answer. Why bother wasting air time on something I don't want?
I finally got fed up and gave them a custom ring tone - hopefully this will save me the trouble of searching through my bag for my cell every time they call only to see that once again it's the frickin' telemarketers!!

i just got hired at voxdata today the process was very simple.but my boi frnd told me not to gothrew with it so i deside  to look up the company and there site said underconstruction like the above link.then i found this page . i thjink i will not except the job and esten to my man and all you gus this cant be wrong thankzz

Just got a call from these guys that started with "I'll tell her she smells sweet like strawberries" um creepy, I obviously hung up. They called back, this guy still obviously talking to his colleague and introduced himself as being from CIBC credit cards.

I get calls from this number almost daily, sometimes as many as 3 or 4 times a day.  I only picked up twice so far.  The first time there was no one on the other end.  The second time a female voice asking for some funny name and I said wrong number.

It's frustrated!!!Called day and night to my cell phone, it happened more than 2 weeks and keep going and going further.Please stop calling me anymore!!!

They call again and again and again... Always leave a "blank" message on my answering machine.

They've been calling daily on my unlisted cell phone. Up to 3 times a day. I never answer. I called CIBC to complain. Will see if the calls will stop.

im getting constant calls from cibc,i either get scilence on the line or its them wanting to do a stupid survey and frankly i have no time for it...
i just dont awnser my phone to them,they call like once or twice a day,its rediculous!!

Same issue here.  Been getting the calls for about 3 weeks now.  I never hear anything on the line since it hangs up after 2 seconds.  Maybe its Peggy from CapitalOne, lol.

One thing I would like to add is that I tried calling the number back but it actually hung up after two rings.  Looks like they are covering their tracks.

Yes you can block phone numbers.  First, add your info to the Do Not Call Registry (I did it online).  This helps to reduce telemarketing callers and enables you to file reports about any numbers that continue to harass you (applies to land lines and cell phones.

In addition, if you are able to utilize applications on your cell, you can download a call blocker app.  There are ones for free and others that cost a reasonable amount of money (approx. $2 - $8).  I have a Droid 2 and I use Extreme Call Blocker Droid.  It allows me to type in specific numbers to block with options to go straight to voicemail, hang up, or pick up and emit an incredibly annoying noise for the caller to hear (if it is human).  It has other features too....but I have looked through a lot of these apps and honestly, they all will block a call and the added features are just a matter of preference.
