I get calls from this number every so often.  Come to find out this is a Collection Agency that bought debt from Columbia House DVD.  I guess back in 2005 I signed up for one of those deals and didn't purchase the 1 DVD at full price within a year.  To be honest I forgot all about it.

Call Capital One's Customer Service Dept. and explain the situation.  They can request that you are taken off the list.

This number will call me 3 to 4 times a day, sometimes (maybe once a week) they will leave a message telling me they're calling for Joesph Witiker, or something like that anyway. They have been calling me for at least 3 months now, I have answered about 3 times telling them that they have the wrong number but will not stop harassing me. They are trying to collect a debt, this is nearly frustrating me to tears.

Im tired of these people calling me  over 20 times a day.
when i answer they hang up.

I called back today at 10:10 AM to 1 866 526 7795 and talked with “Lisa” who identified the company as “Allied Interstate in behalf of Capitol 1” and asked for my 16 digit account number. I informed Lisa that I do not have a Capitol 1 account. She verified my telephone number as above and said that they would remove my number from their list within 48 hours. I told her the following: I am exercising my rights under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) You must: 1. Send me a written copy of your "Do Not Call" Policy to my address above within the next few weeks; 2. Place my number on your "Do not Call" list. and; 3. Not call my number again. We have no business with each other. I am keeping records of the calls. If you call again, that will be your last free call. I will pursue financial relief from additional calls through the TCPA at my local small claims court. If you do not send your “Do Not Call” policy, that will also cost $500 plus court fees. calls 2 -3 times a day - no one evr says anything

I get calls from this number all day long. The calls start at 8:30a and go on every hour on the hour until  8:30p. Never leaves a message. However, I have never had a credit card let alone a Capital One card.

Call 2 and three times a day. I answer no one there. They will not leave a message or pick. Try to call back, will not call back

WOW they call several times a day...never leave a message and when I answer they always ask for my Capitol One account number! JUST MAKE THEM GO AWAY PLEASE!!!!!

You are fools if you think the FTC and the Do Not Call program accepts indivudal complaints. It is a joke they play on us. Get a lawyer and sue them.  Your corrupt congressman get his election contributions from these collection agencies so they will ignore anything you say. first of all you need to know who allows this type of treatment. Yes it is your congressman who voted to allow this. Call them and they say they can't do anythong. Which is a lie, they just want their election contributions. I email call my congressman regularly. Tell them you will not vote for them again and will pass the word around. The Do Not Call list is for telemarketers only. And as I said they do not investigate individual complaints nor does the FTC. I know they have forms to fill out. But that is trick and of no use. If congress is against you you do not have a chance. They make the laws. I get 70 to 80 calls a month from debt collectors. I owe no one any money and never have. They still continue to call. Never answer the phone or call them back. Buy phones with call block feaTURES AND SWITCH TO PHONE COMPANIES THAT HAVE CALL BLOCK. some cell phones allow you to select a separte ring for an individual. Select silent mode yfor these callers.

Like others have said this is Allied Interstate/Capital One.  I've been receiving 3 calls a day on my fax line from this number.  I called back (with my # blocked) and spoke to a very polite representative.  I told her that I didn't have a Capital One account and she apologized and removed my number from the system.  Supposedly it will take effect within 24-72 hours, so we'll see...

No one ever answers when I pick up the phone and no one answers when I call the number back. I am on the Do Not Call list.

these idiots have called me 1000 times over the last 4 months. Something needs to be done about these people.

This phone number calls my work many times a day and always hangs up on me.  Not sure who it is but it is agervating. Called the number back today and left a message to be taken off of call list...I doubt it will happen
