Scam, claimed to be Rogers, talking about how Shaw and Rogers are merging and that they can now offer me better deals. Asked me to verify my identity by giving him the PIN on my Rogers account. I declined. He then asked to send the OTP to my phone and asked me to give him that number. Again I declined. I asked for a call back number and was given the same one they called from (which is never the case - you should always be given the main customer service intake line.)

Voicemail left on my landline. Poor quality, didn't understand most of it. Caller said she was from Rogers/Shaw and used my name. Said I had to call as the terms of my contract had changed.

Received a call from Rogers /Shaw or so he claimed. The call came on my dad's  landline. He was looking for me which I thought was strange for my dealings with Rogers  is through my cell. Too fishy  for me  so told him I would  call back. NOT

Why doesn’t Shaw take care of this and look into this themselves if we there clients mean so much to them.
This world is starting to suck having it seems anyone who knows how to dial a phone number who can rip you off is getting pretty bad sucks.

I have had repeated calls from this number over the last few months. I have never picked up and they have never left a message.

After researching the number through sites like this I saw many references to Shaw/Rogers. I subscrive to Shaw internet/tv services so I initiated an online chat and asked if 1-866-574-2537 was one of their numbers.

The response was no and it may be a scam attempt.

They called again and this time left a message saying they were from Rogers/Shaw and wanted to know if we were happy with our services. I'm beginning to think they are a 3rd party contracted to Rogers.

This caller claimed to be SHAW asking if I want to upgrade my service. I asked them to email me the offer and they told me they could not.  They asked when a better time to call me back and I told them Friday.  They have called me 3 more times since and no messages were left.  Just dead air.  I believe this is a scam.

Another evening call. Usually I get someone male or female, with a "Gandu" accent. This time it was somebody that was speaking with a Caucasian accent. Same schitt, different day, except with the accent. had another call earlier in the day again saying they were from Rogers/Shaw, they had my name, and I told him that I wasn't here. They then asked if they could call back later I said call back tomorrow afternoon. So hopefully it might be female with a accent from West Bengal.
More information on all these things can be found on YouTube. Just search for scam, and at the top, you'll find scammer payback. Watch a few of them, then pass it on do others. Especially, elderly people, the most likely to be scammed, because of the technology.
Looking forward to the next "Modachod" phone call, as I've learned a few prime Hindi words I have learned watching the videos on YouTube.
