- Caller: 1-866-616-6076:
- SCAMMED AS WELLCan't get rid of it. Have been stuck on music for hour. Verizon won't help get it canceled
- TSpammed by 866-616-6076. When you reply you get spammed with two more followup e-mails. Can't stop it. Only number that appears is 75714. How come there's no caller ID for this?
- Debbie U.Verizon is now trying to address this issue as it apparently has happened quite a bit and the company, which apparently goes by several names, opera ringtones and a few others, is being reported to the bbb. Would be a good idea if anyone that has had this happen to them to report it also.
- Mad DadScammed is more like it. This so called company advertises FREE ringtones and wallpaper for cell phones on MTV, but there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen that basically tells you that if you receive a FREE ringtone or pickup line you are automatically registered for their service with a montly fee of $9.99. I called the 866-616-6076 number during the early morning, between 8a & 9a and got through to an Service Rep. I told them to cancel the service and had to give them my daughter's cell phone number. Lesson Learned.
- IndayGot a charge from this number also... tried to call it and only got music. Verizon is not helping me to dispute this. They don't help w/ much though. Has anyone figured out what this is?? I'm not the type of person to download junk from TV, so how could they have gotten my account info??

- Dejected Verizon UserIf you follow the links through ringaza.com to ringtonesutopia.com you'll finally get to the underlying scumbags that are behind this whole mess, an Italian base outfit: dada.net . I aptly sent a web-based email to the co-founder and chairman of dada.net:
To Paolo Barberis : I am pursuing measures to expose the Italian scam job you think you're pulling through your ringtonesutopia.com site.
I'm sure it will fall on deaf ears, so please help in getting this escalated. - Jennifer HawkinsWas hit with the 8666166076 eight times before I received my bill to find out that I had been charge $9.99 a pop...something has to be done, college kids like myself can't aford this kind of thing.

- roger cI got the same $9.99 charge and called Verizon and they gave me credit and blocked "premium TXT messaging"
- JoEllen ByersI received three of their texts this month and was charged $30 because I didn't reply. I had no idea what this was until I called verizon. This is wrong and should be illegal.
- Caller: 8666166076
- Dominick PetilloI did not subscribe to this program at a cost of $9.99.
I have notified my cell phone company and they will reverse the charge.
I choose to Opt- Out - STOP.
Remove my name from your list and please refund the charge of $9.99.- Caller: T-Mobile
- RonI am busy causing a fuss today! And we don't go down without a fight!
My son found a way that my 11 year old daughter could have her unlimited free text messages on her cell without being bothered by the scam artists harassing her with $400 premium data charges, and isn't that just incredible that a 17 year old boy found the answer on Google in two minutes when two hours of phone calls to six different adult Verizon representatives proved fruitless!
The incredible part is, Verizon doesn't even know who is sending these collect messages to her but they're collecting the money for these slime balls and charging it on my account, but they claim they can't block it either. All they have is a name, Ringaza, and a telephone number that directs you to a dead web site.
I spent the morning typing up a letter and mailing or emailing it to a long list of elected officials, newspapers and magazines, district attorneys and state and federal utilities boards about this problem. If even one of them responds, there will be hell to pay at Verizon. When it's all done, on the other hand, I could wind up on TV? Or will our guinea pig's head be in my bed tomorrow night?
It's New Jersey, so anything can happen.
All I want is my 700 free family minutes and my unlimited text messaging for the $127 I was promised it would cost for four phones. In fact, T-Mobile will give me that for $109 a month. As soon as I get the new family desktop computer, I am switching to Optimum Online Triple Play. I may have to stay with Verizon Wireless for another 22 months, but they will be replaced too.
Just incredible the corruption and incompetence that goes on these days. Nobody does their job, and no one is honest anymore. They're all thieves out to loot you, and they're all in on together with the politicians and the Mob.
One rep at Verizon said it was my fault for buying an 11 year old girl a cell phone, and don't bother to shop around, because all the carriers are the same....
Can you believe the arrogance of these people?- Caller: Verizon
- bethI just got a text message from 75714, RingAZA! UR PIN=7027 Enter online to get your BONUS TONES & Credit! Info=HELP or 1-866-616-6067 Quit=STOP. 19.99/mo othr rates may apply.
I texted STOP back to the number and got a follow up text from 1111487101 saying RingAZA! U have been unsubscribed from Text Alerts as of 10/8/08. YOu will not receive any additional messages going forward. More info 866-616-6067.
I tried calling the number and it wouldn't connect. Hopefully no charges appear on my bill, but this totally should be illegal. - TimMore deceptive Advertizing. It's "FREE", but the little blurb at the bottom is barely readable and it's an auto-signup for a service you don't really need or want.
- BobStarted receiving these messages without any idea how i was signed up. Took a long time to get ahold of a rep and i am supposed to be cancelled, but they keep the 9.99 fee. Cllearly a scam.

- Dave| 1 replyI just found these "premium text messages" charges on my Verizon wireless bill. It's for my 12-year-old son's phone. We've talked many times about falling for "free" scam stuff on phone and online. Two hits for $19.98 total, with two different phone numbers.
Verizon customer service: difficult to get through to a person, but finally got someone to tell me what the charges were for, and put a block on every phone line (x4) against premium text messaging of any kind. I also blocked V-Cast downloads due to mysterious data charges every month = more "free stuff from Verizon Mothership. Lori took care of me, but didn't offer to knock off the charges.
I called Verizon Wireless customer service again to ask if the charges were eliminated, and they had not. For the direct asking, and some insistance, the charges were easily removed with a push of a button !
If I am not dreaming (it's possible) and can believe my ears, Verizon customer service came through for me ...... and it only took two phone calls and an hour of my life !!
Have to wait for the next bill ............... - debbie culwellThere was a "IQ Quiz" on Facebook -- looked simple enough, it said, "Two of your friends have taken the IQ test," so I did -- then at the end, it said to put in my cell phone number to get my quiz results, so I did that as well. Then I found out from Verizon that they (not Verizon) had charged me $9.95 for a ring tone.
When I first received the text message, I did the "unsubscribe," but didn't know if it even went through.
I am 52 years old, well educated, and I fell for it -- I can imagine the number of kids on Facebook who would fall for it. - Dana McMahanI have been hit by this scam. I gave no one authority to charge my verizon account. I have 54.96...I cant afford and cant find out how to get my money back!
- Caller: ring gaza
