Got a call today.  Message left asked for me and said please call investigator, Mr. M********. No name of a company that the person was calling from was given. I don't answer calls from names and numbers I don't know, nor return their calls.  Too many scams out there. Caller ID said toll free call.  I googled the number but there were no reports on this number. No company name came up as to who it belongs to since it was a toll free no.

Got a Call from 866-641-2927. I did not know number. Call back and it had no business introduction on voice recording only this is investigators. I hung up.

I received a call from Investigator Matthews, I called the local police they said it's a scam, they have nothing to do with them and everytime they contact them, they change the number.

Received the same call.  Investigator Derek Mathews, calling my phone, work, and my bosses cell phone.  Call the number and the greeting message is very generic and they don't leave any info what it is regarding.  Just a ref #.

I actually called this investigator matthews back. He's legit. He had important information regarding my auto loan. I already knew I was way behind and out for repo. But he gave me some advice and didn't threaten me at all. I questioned him about why the message they leave is so vague and he explained that in order to follow the law they cannot leave any personal information regarding the vehicle or loan on the message because they can't guarantee they are leaving a message on the correct phone and or someone else hearing the message. For example say your hiding your finance trouble from a spouse or business partner and they say hey your cars out for repo we need to schedule a time to pick it up or the bank is going to sue you on a voice mail and the wrong person hears it. Now you broken the law and can be sued yourself.

If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to hide. Call back take 2 minutes out of your life to handle your business and do what's right.

The best way to stop a repeat caller , solicited or whatever is to just answer the call and be short but polite. Say no  and explain. Why without yelling and getting mad at them for just doing there job.

Lol this same guy just called me lol no company info so I guess he will just be waiting for me to call him back

Don’t know this number ,they say it’s a private investigator.  aware of said individual.

This is a legit repo company. I fell way behind on my auto lease, to the point where I just stopped paying, knowing that this day would come.  I called him back and arranged for a mutual repo. I had nothing to hide and actually was relieved that it’s out of my driveway. Like another person said ... if you have nothing to hide, call back to find out how to proceed with setting up a mutual repo or else they WILL find the car.

Lets see, no real "investigator" by that name, no name of this alleged legitimate repo company, so I'm thinking that your post is a lie and that you are this so called "investigator" trying to scare people into paying you extortion money. How close am I to the truth?

To be fair, Jack, Bob ,back in 2015, gave a better explanation of the business he was hiding behind than this poor representation. I put it down to a  dimunation of the standards of training at "repo" school. You just can't get the staff.

You are correct. If you are behind on your auto loan, call then and deal with them directly, DO NOT call this guy back.

I got a call from this number the other day, they left a voicemail bc i dont answer numbers i dont know. The number popped up and unknown caller... the voicemail said it was a investigator names Derek Matthews and he needed to speak with me about something. Heres the thing. I moved out of state the end of September 2020. Im caught up on all my bills, and dont owe anything. So theres no need for an “investigator” to be calling me... what do i do? He didnt say anything in the voicemail about the company he works for, or anything like that. The number he left me to call him back was 866-641-2927. Any body else in this same situation?
