Turns out that it's Register.com calling to make offers on domains that you own that are about to expire. I have them on the phone right now, apparently the rep doesn't know about this but she sounds like she's fairly new too, just my opinion since I've called there over 50 times throughout the years.  She's actually quite sweet and is currently looking into it right now for me. Their reps are always amazing so I was surprised to learn that they're now blasting me with these calls, ON MY CELL PHONE...!  Each time I answer the call, they hang up...!? Why call then? There's some lawsuit with some company who does that... They have some automated system that will dial hundreds and hundreds of numbers, when someone answers, if there's an available rep, it'll be routed to them but if they don't have the man-power the line will just disconnect. Just surprised to hear that they're doing the same thing. Actually, after learning this I went ahead and transferred the remaining domains to a competitor because this is nuts. Shame on you Register.com...!  Times are tough but driving people nuts isn't going to help you add to your bottomline. In my case, you've actually confirmed the fact that I just shouldn't do business with your organization. EUREKA...!  The rep was just informed by another rep that they DO have an automated system that does dial out. She's actually going to put my number on Register.com's Do Not Call List. Just hung up. Done. Hopefully...!  :)

ditto to above = they tell me when I call they can not put my cell phone number on a do not call list unless I answer the call on my cell phone - because the outbound call is a different department than the in-bound call!

Their calls to my cell as well.  The number fluctuates between "(866) bla-blah" to "+1 (866) bla-blah."  Have not and will not answer.  If no message, then they don't get a call back.

They call our office on a regular basis and when you answer they hang up.  It is very annoying.  How do we go about reporting this to the phone company to get this blocked?  It is a waste of time for our Customer Service Reps.

I just renewed my domain 2 days ago with them.  So why would they have a need to call me?  Companies should really respect the privacy of customers - if we wanted to buy more stuff, we'd contact them.  Gheesh!

put your cell # on that and then report them when they call. problem solved.

Got 2 Calls today from 866 681 1704 ; did not answer and they did not leave a message. They are pretty persistent. Got calls yesterday.

they are getting very desperate.  they call me 3-4 times a day.  i'll probably never use them again to buy a domain.
