MJR is a collection agency. 13 years ago I became insolvent and MJR was one of about 20 collection agencies that began calling me. I filed for bankruptcy two years after they started calling and my debts were dismissed. Now it seems that some fraudster calls either from MJR or displaying his number as if it comes from MJR and is trying to use false claims about your supposed debt to extort money from you. Maybe you had a bankruptcy before and they try to take advantage of your fears about debts. Know this: A collector must send you a letter to your address before they are allowed to call you. If you did not receive a letter that states what you owe to whom, who the agency is, then you know the caller is a fraudster. Do Do not give them any information about you. Do not call back. And consider reporting them to police.

MJR..same scenario.  They began calling me, and left a message to call them back so I did.  Not even thinking I answered the receptionist's security question of 'name and date of birth'.  Could have choked myself!  I was put on hold where no one came back..called and called.  Finally got someone and she said I owed an insurance company.  I said, if so, send a letter.  I told her I knew the laws from working in the Commercial Property industry. She said she would.  Next day, a man called me.  I told him the same thing and he spoke over me, told me I should check with Canada Post for the letter because they sent it. LOL. As if. Now, they call relentlessly, day, night, weekends..still no letter.  I've blocked 15 numbers now.

I just received a text from these idiots. I hope they get return messages that I am NOT Melisssa Michaud STOP the harassment or else I will take further action!

Claim to be a collection agency (MJR Capital) but more likely a scam as they are asking for me by a name I haven't used in 10 years, I did have service with the company they are claiming to collect on behalf of but that was over 15 years ago and under another different name, I spoke to that company directly who confirmed my account was closed in good standing.
I suspect this is phishing and will not be in contact with them in any way.
