My wife received a call from this number and was told that her number was the primary number on the Bank of America account.  Well, we do have a Bank of America account, so she listened to them for a moment and even put them on speaker since I was in the room.  My family has banked with Bank of America for as long as I can remember, (or at least with banks that Bank of America eventually bought up).  I know their typical behavior, and this just didn't seem to fit.  Besides, her number is not the primary number on the account.

Not to mention, they offered paying money to protect our credit.  We have no credit right now.

I don't know who these people are, but they are NOT Bank of America.

I just called my bank to let them know of the 'scam' and they told told me it was a legit offer from the bank and even retold me about it. If you want to be taken off the call list, I suggest you contact your bank.

and they told me they were calling from Bank of America and wanted to talk to me about Identity theft.

The Guy even new he had called by cell phone.  I hung up on him as soon as he said he wanted to talk about identity theft.  I figured he was either fishing or trying to sell something.

I received a call late this evening from this number. The guy on the phone claimed to be from Bank of America, and said he was looking at my account and saw I didn't have any identity theft protection and went in to telling me about the promotion. He then went to ask me what accounts I had with BOA, and I told him nothing. I told him I wasn't interested and he hung up quickly.I called the number back and got a recording saying "you have reached the service center, no agent is available to take your call, please enter your telephone number and we will call you back shortly". I called BOA to see if they were running a promo on the plan, and they confirmed they were not. The rep forwarded me to his supervisor to report the number, and they notated my account of my call just in case something happened. They were apologetic and thanked me for reporting the scam. I also read on other sites the same number calls and claims to be from GMAC, HSBC, Wells Fargo, etc. Beware.

Received an automated call saying they needed to speak to me about my mortgage and then gave me a number to call and a code to type in. Then they proceeded to ask for some information from me. I hung up and called my bank and the lady told me that if my bank were to ever call me that they would have all my info in front of them and would not need to ask them for any info. THE CALL IS FRAUD and they are trying to get your info to steal from you. She emphasized to me to NEVER GIVE OUT ANY INFO ON THE PHONE.
