I got a $149 charge on my debit card.  My bank gave me this number for AMDB, and told me they were a direct marketing company.  I have been on hold for 25 minutes, just to find out what this company is.  I checked the AshleyMadison.com website as mentioned above, and this is not their number.  I definitely believe this is CC fraud.  I will be contacting the fraud department at my bank about this.

Same thing happened to me 9-30-10.  Two charges against my checking account and have been on hold for quite some time. I reported it to my bank to file a fraud report.

i have a charge on my card aswell for 68.99 called the number and they leave you on hold and dont pick up, i waited on the phone for 35 minutes and then i just had to hang up.

Just found 2 charges on my husbands account for AMDB .  One charge was for $68.99 and another for $79.00  the phone number on the statement 866-790-6550 just has me on hold FOREVER!!!  Went to bank as well. No luck in finding out what AMDB stands for.  I have searched online and it's a toss up between Ashley Madison or Credit Card Fraud.   I need answers before I can confront!!!  Anyone with answers to this?????????????

Sorry, it is Ashley Madison; sort of like Match.com, except for swingers and married people.  The phone number on your credit card statement is fake because Ashley Madison isn't going to put thier real number on your statement so you don't find out what your spouse is up to.  Did the explanation look like this:

I.m sorry to tell you  but this is the number for Ashley Madison...the online dating service for MARRIED couples! I had to really research it, but this is what the number is. They will not answer ANY of your questions unless you have the actual credit card that was used. It sucks...I know.

I have random charges for this number, and for another SMARTDATE SAS, i cancled my Credit card and am having it replaced with a new one.  Im not married or dating anyone, how would they have gotten my card information?

I had the exact same thing happen to my card.  Woke up on a Sunday morning ready to go buy some groceries and imagine my surprise to fine my daily checking account empty.  Called the bank and found out that whoever the [***] was that jacked my info, tried putting it through numerous times until it took, and even kept trying after.  What kind of pathetic idiot steals money to go to a cheating site???  WTF???  I'm still trying to figure out how my info was stolen as I am very careful where and how I use my card and I always verify websites before purchase to avoid phishing scams.  Anyway, had to get a new card and wait 4 days to get fraud charge reversed.

sweeite, this is not fraud, those charges are consistent with charge amounts for ashley madison, the reason that the phone number doesnt match is because ashley madison is all about discretion so they provide a false phone number with the charge so that inquiring spouses much like yourself all think its fraud charges, but its not... tell your husband you got into his ashley madison account and see his reaction, then you'll have your truth

the charges you are questioning buy credits on the website, and contacting other members costs credits, so your paying for him to contact other women whom he wants to cheat on you with... just dealt with this same thing with my wife... its a nice kick in the ass! let me know if you'd like to get some payback, you can use me lol :)

It could be fraud.  I have charges for AMDB, Chemisty.com and another on my AmEx card.  Definitely not mine.  Not my spouses (she has her own cards).  AmEx contacted me before I even knew about the charges.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news folks, but I also have this on my card, and guess what. It's for the website ashleymadison.com so married spouses can cheat. I actually got an account on this website and found my husband. Now I'm trying to decide if he's worth working our marriage out. We have two kids too.

AMDB is definitely Ashley Madison.  I did some digging myself, joined the website to look for my husband's profile, and posing as him online, disputed the credit card bill with his credit card company.  Faced with all the evidence, my husband confessed.  Sorry to break the bad news, but better you know the truth.

Hi All, can anyone tell me HOW through digging they found out it really was Ashley Madison? I joined to look around, cant find ANYTHING about fees or how it appears on the card but i see 68.99 from AMDB in wilmington DE.

Well I found the same charge & told my husband I thought it was fraud. Told me he would call the bank. I looked up the ambd & # and found this site & another with the same type of posts. When I told him I was calling the 866 number just to see, he confessed. So THAT was my proof!

I had an employee charge things on business account. Only way to check is call the number, speak to operator as if you are that person giving them the credit card number (no expiration or 3 digit code), date and amount... They will tell you which service he was subscribing to...

This is definitely just a credit card processor for many companies..  They do all sorts of businesses like magazines and stores and other merchants.
