I work at SaskTel (in the Implementation department; we book your Max and High Speed orders).  I just did some investigation as to who this number belongs to, as I had a customer call me tonight asking about it. It turns out this number is legitimate.  As of late, this department has been having difficulties with their dialer, and so sometimes there is nothing but dead air on the other end.

You posted in March, I am posting in September. This number calls me OFTEN, tonight three times (once per hour) and I DO answer and as soon as I say, "Hello" they hang up in my ear. If they've been having these difficulties with their dialer since March and it is now September... maybe someone should bloody well do something? This is the kind of thing that makes people cancel their service.

I live in a rural community less than one hour out of Regina...  we have not, do not and will never have Max in our community, but the calls come several times per week...  I answer, they hang up!

Apparently Sasktel.  The reason nobody answers is that a computer has dialed and an operator will take the next line that a live subject is on.  Just hang up.

You know, Sask Tel would have much better luck if they just sent a letter in the mail and thats it. Most of us are sick of telemarketers and we either ignore them, or just hang up. You never know who it is phoning you and it could be a scam of some kind and most people are well aware of that.

Get calls from this number, on average, once per hour.......DAY AND NIGHT (until 9pm).  Is that really necessary?  I have answered calls from SaskTel in the past regarding their TV service and have explained no less than half a dozen times that I am not in a position to obtain their services currently because I am in a contract with another provider.  What is so hard to understand about that?!  Harassing me multiples times per day for days on end won't make me sign up for your services.....EVER!!!!!!  Get the hint already; you are a nuisance!

It's SaskTel. They called to tell me the warranty on my blackberry is up, and they're trying to sell me a $7/month service plan ... so that if anything happens to my phone I *only* have to pay a $285 deductible instead of $550 to replace the phone.  Very pushy, and offended when I said no I think I'll take my chances.

I too have been receiving endless calls from this number and despite complaining they keep calling.  Today I used the facility to email the President of SaskTel's office.  I have no illusions that the President actually reads the emails but I know from previous experience that senior Sask Tel staff do.  If everyone with this problem sends a message using this link maybe they will realise how counter-productive their Max telemarketing is and stop these nuisance calls.  I would not have Max now even if it were given away free.  For those who are interested, the link is:

This number just called us, claiming to be from SaskTel, wanting to sell insurance for a BlackBerry.  They couldn't send any information by mail, and said we couldn't call them back.  We called SaskTel back afterwards and they said it is not them calling.

As of July 2012, this number belongs to an unnamed debt consolidation company. They send a pink collection notice letter implying you owe $20,000 but that they can work with you. The fine print at the bottom explains their true motives in debt consolidations. Very misleading and should be illegal. There is no mention of your debtor, because they do not represent one.

If you call the toll-free number provided, they automatically have your name and phone number, because that's how 800/866/877/888 numbers work, so I don't recommend calling them to give them a piece of your mind. If you received a letter and no call, just shred it, curse them and move on.
