They are Firstsource Financial Solutions and they are a debt collection agency...I know because I know someone who used to work there. There address is 7650 Magna Drive Belleville, IL 62223. The recording that you here before a rep answers the phone is just something letting you know that the call will be recorded for legal reasons... they are also Gary Apoins law firm and Medassist. They are not a bad company...I guess they just want there bonus money when they get you to pay your bills...just like any collection agenc does. The operator is such a dingbat...I don't think she knew how to answer a phone properly...lol   I know that you can send in a dispute letter and they have to send you a validation letter....hope this helps...

I returned their call, and asked for their address.  Guy said it was 7650 Magna Drive, Bellville, IL 62223.

    http://www.firstsourcefinancialsolutions.com/who.shtml

That's a simple 30 minute website with no content - so far looks suspicious.

He said he needed my address to talk further with me due to privacy laws, and said he had my social security number and DOB.  Then when I questioned him further about why he hadn't just sent a collections letter, he hung up.  So I called back...

Lady answers the phone.  She says she needs my DOB to talk further to me due to privacy laws.  She says they don't have my address or they would have sent me a letter.  But we don't owe any medical bills, and companies that do medical billing send paper bills.  And we haven't received any paper bills from this or other companies that could be attributed to a wrong person.

This company is fishing for something....

I do have medical debt. However, the person I spoke with that called me from this number - first off I couldn't understand her at first. Then she was beating around the bush at what she was calling about. Said a client sent my file (yes they had my name and address) to their office and needed to verify my birth date. She also claimed that they sent a letter to my home address, but I have not seen anything from a company that I didn't already know. I asked what this "file" was in regards to and she continued to ask to verify information for security purposes. I said "you called me" she said ok thanks... and hung up! I don't think that I should be giving someone personal information when THEY CALLED ME.

I keep on getting calls at all times of day and night.  If I answer the call it hangs up and calls right back.  Very annoying calls.  I wish I could block them.

I have received 7 calls  from this number since January when my grandmother passed away. My mom also has received calls from this number. When I finally answered their call they confirmed my name... Which was wrong then she asked for me to verify my bday since they had supposedly received return mail from an address I haven't had in over 2 years. I said I'm not going to give you my bday. You didn't even have my name correct. She got very snippy and said Fine I'll just call back later. Then she hung up on me. (calling later will not make me answer personal questions). I called the number back and it goes directly to a recording which doesnt state the company name but just says your call will be recorded and answered by next avail agent. I personally have no unpaid medical bills, so I'm assuming that if it's medical debt it's for my deceased grandmother (I assume since my mom is also getting called) I had nothing to do with my grandmas finances. It's ridiculous to continue calling me.

Unfortunately I did have a past due medical bill. I totally forgot about.  I too was very suspicious about the questions asked, and why they didn't have the info if THEY were calling ME.  They even called a family member (sister).  I insisted on validation of the debt, in writing, and I told them they could call me as much as they wanted to, I would not have a conversation without validation.....PERIOD. I got it.  I hate to be the one to say this, but this is a legitimate collection agency.  This is not a collection agency that buys bad debts(3d party debt collecotrs) for pennies on the dollar.   They actually are under contract with the client (medical facility..etc)  Believe me, I did my homework on this.  When they called a family member, they had no idea that this particular family member has been practicing consumer law for 25 years. I think it is wise to know all your rights under the law about debt collection, but this is legit.  They are not buyers or sellers of bad debt.  Rude maybe, but legit.  If you don't owe, and they are harrassing prove it and  if they continue to harrass, they may end up owing you..I am assuming.  But i did, and I paid...in payments.

this company is ligit, first of all let me explain something to people, a collection agency first and foremost when calling a person either has
1 phone number provided by debtor or last known phone # which are skiptraced to find people who dont pay their bills
2 an automated phone system, called the dialer, automatically calls phone numbers whether they have the correct debtor or not.when the campaign is over for that time being, the opportunity is there for the agency to try to remedy the correct phone number
3 if they do get a human voice, they have all your information, you HAVE  to verify who you are.they cannot just give out sensitive information, without proper consent, ITS THE LAW!
4 if the ss do not match when caller is asked to verify.we will end the call and apologize, most good collectors will do this then take the phone number out.
5 a collector, cannot hang up on a person, they have to have a good reason to do so, such as foul language, there is no one answering, or a bad connection.
6.when you do verify yourself, its in your best interest to cooperate, most people think that accounts are sent over cause companies have nothing better to do, the answer is no.the only time there is a mistake is when a company calls and lets the agency know to take it back, ( example, someone paid their bill before sent to agency.
7 as a former collector, if you work with me, i work with you, dont swear at me, threaten me, put me down, i am only doing my job and would being a good person, trying to find solutions for you to resolve the matter.
8 agencies have to follow fdcpa guidelines, which means, federal debt collection pratices act

    we cannot call you
if you tell us a better time to call and we can call back at your convenience
cannot call you more then 3 times a day, once in am once in afternoon and once in pm
if a child answers we will call back
the latest people can call, depending on which time zone your in, is 9pm.
do not have relatives lie for you, i for one can tell if someone is lying, so its not worth it.

Sorry, this doesn't help. You don't pay strangers on the phone just to cease phone calls. State and federal laws already grant everyone the right to limit or stop collection calls, an order best issued on paper and sent USPS Certified with return card.

The fact that a call center rep has your correct name does not prove the debt amount is correct or that his boss has the right to pursue it or that his company has bothered to file proper registrations and licensing to operate in your state. Always dispute a collector's claim on paper. Anything can happen and often does which weakens the claims of high volume agencies with a history of lawbreaking.

Learn how to exercise your FDCPA rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot-gov. See also if your state laws are stronger.

I have recieved multiple phone calls from this number on a regular basis. I rarely answer it and when I do they are very rude. They have my first name and an address that I use to live at 15 years ago. They asked for my present address. I asked who they were and they wouldnt say. I told them to lose my number and stop calling or I would report them for harassment. They recently called again and I answered. It was a guy this time and preceeded to tell me that it was important business information again about the address I lived at 15 years ago and that if I gave him my birthdate that he could give me more info on it. I told him to lose my number and quit harassing me. He told me that was fine, I would be contacting them eventually about this and that I will have wished that I spoke to them when they called.
