I don't think the do not call list is worth anything.  We have been on it for years and still get the telemarketing calls.  I have even called to try to update it and it has done no good.  If we don't recognize the number we don't answer.  I wish the government could come up with something so that these calls could be blocked for good.

Just got a call from this number today.  Denied.

I received 4 calls in the course of 1 minute on my caller ID.  My voicemail is turned off.  I believe that automated dialers are illegal in California.

And where, exactly, did people "opt in" to be contacted? Let me answer that: Nowhere.  Your company likely uses estimates of average household utility expenses-easily locatable online- to  induce people into believing that you actually work for and with public utilities. Your unwelcome calls are actually "illegal" if people have not requested that you call them or have not had a previous business relationship with you within the last 18 months. You are delusional if you believe that you have a right to call individuals on the national Do Not Call list. And to suggest that people "forgot" that they requested  "online" that you contact them, is classic telemarketer BS.

Hopefully this has given YOU a clearer picture of how American regulations work and how Americans don't like receiving unwanted robocalls. Still not sure?  Call the US Federal Communications Commission and ask they about how the Do Not Call list doesn't allow you to contact people.
