Just received a call this evening from Bay Area Credit calling about an AT&T bill that I supposedly defaulted on in July. Problem is, I don't have AT&T...and haven't for years and when I cancelled the service, my bill was paid in full. Difficult to understand service rep rapid-fired off an address and then a phone number that my name is supposedly attached to - I said sorry, it wasn't me and perhaps they should check their records a bit better.

9-28-13 3:30pm  Just got a call from an Indian sounding guy saying I owed $298.70 for AT&T something didn't sound right so I called AT&T on the other line and they said I had a 0 balance. Very rude individual wanted my account info. number he called from was 866 882-7666. AT&T gave me a number to call Monday morning to report. DO NOT GIVE THESE GUYS ANY INFORMATION (per AT&T)

I just called the number and they told me they were calling for someone I had never even heard of. I told them to take my number of their list and the guy got all huffy and revealed that it was "his" company and that he would take me off their list.  It's probably a couple of people or maybe a family. We will see if I am indeed taken off the call list. If you use language such as "I will report you" they likely will get scared off if it's a small operation.

I just got a call from them and since I didnt recognize the number, I didn't answer it. I always like to google numbers that i don't know in case they are companys or restaurants or people that I've called in the past and have just forgotten about. So i just googled the number the found this site. I really hope that they don't continue to call but i have NO idea how they've gotten this number.

My husband answered a call from 866-882-7666, apparently Bay City Credit . We've been receiving these calls for the last few weeks and never answered them. He said the caller had a strong Indian accent and he could hardly understand him. He referred to my husband by his initials and not his full name (which At&t knows) and was told that we owe $240 to At&t which I know we do not. Our account has always been current. He told my husband that if we don't pay, we will be turned over to the collection dept. My husband hung up on him. I called At&t and spoke to the billing dept. and was told our bill is current. I told the At&t rep about this call and was informed that if anyone receives such a call DO NOT give them any information. At&t will call a customer if a bill is unpaid.
This is a SCAM

Who keeps calling me from this number?! I don't know any company that could have my number. I don't give my number to any toll free companies.

We have received several times a month calls from this number. They urge us to pay an At&T debt that we don't have.

8668827666 got ahold of my cell number and they do not stopp badgering - as in calling - but when you finally pick up to tell them to cease and desist, they hang up!

I keep getting calls from this number for my adult, married daughter. She has not lived with me for at least 7 years. Their recording says if you are not this person, please hang up, but they continue to call. So annoying.

This is a group of morons who speak in a "strange tongue" ... if they speak at all.
Give them the "on/off" keying.

I ordered a new landline number from AT&T and immediately the next day this 866 no# starts calling me daily, the funny things is the new landline is a work number(used as a fwd-to number), used with my laptop and I have never given it to no one.  Several times they left a message on answering machine (for collection), but then I turn off the answering machine, they continue to call but after 5-6 rings they disconnect.  The previous person who had this number owed $$ to quite a number of people, hopefully this will end soon. Doesn't bother me much, more annoying than anything, especially when on a call and they attempt to ring thru. I put my number on a DNC list, but 2 mnths later still getting calls...wonder if the DNC list actually works...

These People are acting in fraud all use of the LEGAL NAME is FRAUD and by them asking for a name they are adding and abeding you into committing FRAUD . Anyone who wants to take action tell them you will be privately prosecuting them if they continue to call you and tell them that you are not the legal name that the legal name is owned by the crown corp and Is registered with them therefore it is not yours to use and by doing so you are committing FRAUD any and all legal names and anything registered and I mean all things registered is all owned by the crown that's why they can arrest you or steal your vehicles and your homes. Get informed people and fight back in full honor. Go to ....LOOSE THE NAME .com  and there you will be educated. And there you will have all the info you need to privately prosecut.
