Someone is calling me and hanging up when I answer the phone. Take my number off your calling list at once

I hope I do get to talk to somebody ... Here's my approach.

No matter what they have to sell, no matter who it is calling:
- I listen for all the details;
- I make sure that I ask all the intelligent questions;
- I engage in a full and positive discussion;
Then:
WHen asked to commit - I say No thank you.
This pisses them off - more than their calls piss me off.  I love it!

This worked for me:
Call the number back, and when automated person comes on press 4, to get off their call list.  You will get transfered and then it will ask you to enter your 10 digit number, and verify.
once this happens, you should have no problems.

I've been receiving calls more and more frequently, and when I answer there is no one there. Today they called twice and left a blank voicemail both times.  This needs to stop!

Hello, I am being called several times a day, including weekends, already for several months. I let the phone ringing now, but when I picked it up there was no response. Is any way how to get rid of this nuisance? Thanks.

Thanks for advice. I did call the number and hopefully was removed from the Rogers list. Thanks again for the tip. I will definitely stick with Bell Canada.

I work for a survey research company so I can tell you this, the myths about wasting their time will never work, we are not allowed to remove you from the call list unless you actually say so, if we got no response we will generally call you back within an hour, again and again repeat... the machines that require the callers to press a number does not really work either because despite using a headset we can still press the number on the phone. Of course our company does not sell anything EVER but we do use the same technologies as the other companies... all in all it would be simpler to just pick up the phone and tell them to remove you from the list.

This number has been calling me every day during the last two weeks.  There was no response when I pick up the phone.   Blank messages were left in my voicemail when I ignored the phone.

I just called this number and realized this number belongs to a marketing company called TRG (a company hired by Rogers).  A option in the automated system was provided to allow one to enter a phone number in the "do not call" list.  I am crossing my fingers hoping that they won't call again.

The company name for 1-866-899-8313 is TRG.

TRG is a markating company for rogers.

To remove your name from the calling list (aka put your name on the "do not call list") follow these steps :
1. call 1-866-899-8313
2. When the automated message starts, press 4
3. You will get transfered to the "do not call list" automated message/box
4. Enter your 10 digits number when you are asked to.
5. Enjoy the freedom, you won't get called by TRG anymore !

this is so far beyond annoying.  here is what i have tried SO far...and NOTHING...STILL getting calls.
A) called rogers asked to be removed, was told i would be removed within 48 hours
B) wrote to corporate affairs at ROGERS
C) entered my number as indicated by many posters in the "do not call" option to the 1-866 number.

the calls stopped for about a month and JUST got a call AGAIN!

this is unbelievable, specially being that this is ROGERS...the biggest bloody telecommunications company in this country!  we as CONSUMERS are being harrassed for giving them our business!

here's some irony...under "telemarketing" in the Rogers FAQ, it lists a CRTC website where you can lodge complaints against companies who are continually contacting you unsolicited.  Here is the link, I just filled this out, we should all let them know what is going on as this is complete crap.

just got off the phone with rogers.

i told them any further unsolicited calls would be considered harassment and my next call would be to the police.

They said the made some sort of note on my file and it wouldn't happen again

They have finally forced me to cut off my cable first and now my home phone. I will be switching my internet next. Rogers is dearly mistaken if they think they can keep harassing me with phone calls all about a 100.00$ balance. Not likely this is ridiculous and harassment How can i bring about a case against this monster Rogers? I have never missed a payment in 4 years yet somehow they think i am not gonna pay or something (crazy)

Both Rogers and Bell should burn, anyone who wants better service should switch all their home services to a different company.

Got another call this morning. Didn't get to the phone on time and they didn't leave a message. I see from other reports that it's Roger's Wireless. I've told them at least a dozen times already that I am not interested. I will now change my business lines from Rogers to ANYBODY!

Seriously crazy.  It is harrassment.  It can also take up to 30 days to come off their calling list.

In the last two days I have received seven calls from this number. I have sent nasty e-mails to Rogers in the past two years, not to mention complaining directly to supervisors at their call centres, about getting way too many harassing calls. Each time I'm told, Oh sorry, I will flag your account so these calls stop. But they don't.

When my contract ends, I'm definitely not going to go with Rogers again. Every month there is a week when my phone rings up to five times a day from these annoying scum-sucking piles of crap.

Stop calling me. It's very annoying.
