Claimed to be my credit union, but when I called the number on the back of my credit union debit and credit cards, they said the telephone number left on the answering machine, and the fraud alert number were NO good with them. The message on the answering machine also gave four numbers that belonged to a credit card, but the message was for a debit card.

(866) 906-4133 is a llegitimate VISA fraud number, per my credit union.  VISA monitors purchases and flags the card.

Sunday, 8/24/2025 1145 AM PDT. I did not answer and the reports you show about this number make me glad I skipped it. Lots of scams lately.

Joe, I think you misunderstand those old posts.  DD clearly says it was a valid fraud alert while jon is somewhat skeptical.  However, in either case, the prudent thing to do is to accept the call or listen to the message and take action by CALLING THE NUMBER ON THE FLAGGED CARD and ask for the fraud department.  Scammers often try to throw doubt on legitimate fraud alerts.  You can always decline to give the caller any information but DO NOT INGNORE the call.
