- SaraThey just called for me. I know what it is regarding- they are a debt collector for product that I returned. It is being disputed, and because of that reason I told them NEVER to call again. But they always call and they are ALWAYS rude. I finally told the man who called today that I will be getting legal representation and he said to tell him who my legal rep was. When I said no, he called me a liar!!! And then he said that I need to take care of this is 15 days or I would be arrested. ABSOLUTELY FALSE- but just scare tactics. They are harrassing me and pushing it way past the extenet of the law. They have called my HUSBANDS work and his cellular phone, have no idea how they got those numbers! I am going to try to figure out how to report them.

- NickynameI get calls all the time from these jerks too, they never leave a message, ever. I never answer any numbers I am not expecting a call from period. I have had too many calls for other people who used to own my phone number and don't appreciate being harassed for them. Report them to the Better Business Bureau, to your State Govt...who is it, the Attorney General I believe, and while it may be a pain in the rear and very inconvenient...save yourself the headaches and change your phone number. There should be no way they can get your number again if you don't hand it out, that forces anyone that has a legitimate need to contact you to do so via postal mail.
There are laws to prevent these people from being abusive with consumers and threats of arrest and other actions are against the law. They cannot have you arrested for anything, the threats are used to try to strong arm people into paying them money they believe they are due when many times they're due nothing at all. In fact, sometimes I think debts are sold off and are sold several times with more than one company attempting to collect the same debts after the main company had no luck for whatever reason.
And that guy that says 'get over it'...well, I can only hope you never fall on financial difficulties and have to pick and choose which bills you'll pay or not eat. I don't think you realize how hard it is to juggle that stuff if you are faced with it. Pay your own bills dude and don't come here and knock people around for their troubles...it could be you someday too.- Caller: none listed
- NickynameAnd also you can turn them into the FTC. Here is the web address for the Fair Credit Act. Read up, it protects you and tells you how to make them stop calling you.

- AndyI called this number regarding a debt fro Citibank and a woman from LTD answered. I asked for the person calling me and discussed my account. I asked for proof of purchase since the amount is really high. She refused. We discussed, and agreed on a settlement offer. I told her i would pay it if she would put it in writing. She refused, because this offer is good for only 3 days and the letter would not arrive on time to my house. I was stern that i would pay that amount only if it was in writing. She refused so i said bye then hung up. I knew this is a [***] credit agency because she said i had a great credit score and she wanted to make sure my credit score staid high. I have a low credit score. She refused to validate this debt by sending proof of purchase and refused to put anything in writing (i don't think this is legal, is it?). The number they call from says it is an unknown number and they rarely leave a message. I spoke with Vicky Brooks x866.
- NAGet over it? You get over it dumbass. I pay my bills [***].

- KellyJulie or Julia is a very obnoxious and rude debt collector from this number. She threatened me with a lawsuit and wouldn't even let me finish a sentence. She is calling my Mom's house where I don't even live. I tried to tell her that and she said the calls will continue. That's fine because my dad is a grumpy old man who will give them a piece of his mind if they call at 9 PM again. Then Julie told me and argued that it was 8 and my mom is old and forgot to change her clock. If they want money or results, being polite won't kill anyone.

or call 1-866-310-9845 (9:00am-5:00pm CST) - Get Over It SuxIt doesn't take me to tell anyone that we are living in hard times. Like someone said, when you have to decide on paying companies who got federal bail out money, which we as tax payers who were only given unemployment paid for or eating and keeping the lights on, you'll choose food any day. The ones who kept their incomes and jobs should count their lucky stars and stop being so cruel and heartless to others who aren't as fortunate. People like that are the most deserving for what good people are going through. It's like people who's been working 20, 30 or 40 years saw this coming. Next they'll call us whiny Liberals. Get out it? I said THEY get out it over and stay away!
- ShawnThese people have called three times in the last two days. They woke my ass up this morning at 8:30 a.m. to talk about something. Not sure how they got this cell number since I've only given it to a few select people. I imagine TracPhone gave it out. I didn't bother to answer since it would waste my minutes.

- csCalled my number numerous times over the past week. Couple days ago, called my home at 5:40am. Told me that the Police were on the way to arrest me, unless I paid them and do I really want to have my children placed in Foster Care while I'm in Jail? Funny thing about all this is the fact that the account they claim I owe, I've never stepped foot in that place (department store). I've requested they provide to me in writing, their documentation on this account. Also, my kids are grown and gone out of the house. Since my state is a "single party state" in regards to recording telephone conversations, I'll be reporting them to my State's Attorney General for this and calling outside the hours allowed by law. Will be interesting to see what happens.

These folks were taken to court by the Federal Trade Commission for unfair collection practices. Script is very similar to one used by a scam artist group from East India. Rude, threaten jail time, harrassment. Contact your state Attorney General's office website for more info on how to deal with this type of "collector".- Caller: LTD Financial Services - Houston
