I just received a letter from a company called Chrysler Capital advising me that a credit extension was denied.  I never applied for one.  This was the number that was provided.  They are located in Dallas.  Good luck!

Received a letter from "Santander Consumer USA" stating my application for an extension of credit was denied; similar to one of the above reports, Dallas address and this number on the contact info.  I have never done business with such company.  It is a SCAM!

Similar. I just received a letter of denial credit line from CCC Jones Holding Company. The company is out of Dallas, TX and the consumer report came from Santander. Never applied for credit.

Got a letter from Santander about a loan extension being denied even though I never applied for one. They are scammers/Santander bank imposters.

Just received a very official-looking letter claiming to be from Chrysler Capital saying my credit application from 3 months ago was denied. They listed this number: 1-877-219-9672  The letter looks very authentic and I did get a new car lease 3 months ago. I couldn't tell for sure if it was real so I googled the call-back number and found this page.

One of my senior citizens in the building I manage received a letter today - same thing --- from Chrysler Capital;  I called them to let them know we are aware of this scam and try to shame them - but of course they have no shame!   He said that they are a "foreign bank" for Chrysler ----

I received a letter from Chrysler Capital saying my extension of credit was denied. Never applied for a loan. Complete SCAM! If you look up Chrysler Capital they have a completely different address and phone number!

Same thing here.  My wife and I both got these letters after we had already been approved on a leased vehicle with Chrysler Capital.  This is a phishing scam.  And, my wife just happens to be a fraud investigator.

Similar to the comments here - I received an "official" letter from Santander suggesting my recent application was denied. It is a scam and I have reported them to local law enforcement in Texas & Florida as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION PERTAINING TO YOUR PERSONAL ACCOUNTS OR IDENTIFICATION

Received a letter from Chrysler Capital telling me to call 917-219-9672 and that my credit application was denied. It’s a total scam. I went to the local dealer the letter said my credit was checked by and they have no record of my name. The reference number on the upper left hand corner of the letter is bogus. Notified fraud!

Received a letter in the mail, looking very very official. From Santander consumer USA first time receiving a letter, even though I was approved for car credit loan a month ago I got a letter a month later saying that I was denied and my credit score was below 670 when I already have a 750+ score. I was very scared and worried and even tried calling the number after hours but thankfully, it’s a little bit more investigation and these post out found out that it is a scam and have nothing to worry about. even though I found my past email of being approved for my credit loan. Everything aligns up with the company and these these chats.

The same number, as follows 877–2 19–9672. It is also located out of Dallas Texas. Another concerning thing that I didn’t see in the past was that the PO Box number was 660538.

How do you know that this toll free number which could anywhere in the North American Numbering Plan is in Texas and why is that PO Box number "concerning"?
