This number is for Bank of Montreal Card Security.  They detected possible unauthorized use/skimmed card on my ATM card, and shut it down and were calling to notify me.

Bank of Montreal Security. The also detected possible fraudulent transactions on my card. Online banking and my card were both shut down. They call you to notify you and to give you steps on how to get your card working again.

May 2010 we got the automated message as well.  I call the bank to see if it was for real and they said it was and confirmed that our acc't was fine.  Our PIN number had to be changed before the card would be useable.

BMO called me to tell me that my card was blocked due to unauthorize usage.

I keep getting a call from this number and some how i keep missing it..i dont even have an account with BMO!..urghh so annoying!..

I received 2 calls from this number on 19 Aug 13. 1st call at 3PM and the 2nd at 4:30PM. No message was left on the answering machine.

Got a call from this number and the robo voice said my credit card account was blocked. I tried using the card for a small online purchase and it was fine.
When I spoke to BMO about this I was told it was a bogus call and they were phishing for account related info.
Call BMO directly if you get a call from this number claiming to be Mastercard and don't give these callers any information.

Just got a call from this number. When I answered no one was there. So looked the number up on this site. Because there are varying opinions on here about the legitimacy of this call, I tried signing into my BMO online account just to see. Well it turns out I'm locked out of my online banking account, so I called the 800 number listed on my card to speak to a representative. Turns out they have detected a possible skimming activity from the magnetic stripe portion of my card, so to get it back up and running all I have to do is go to the nearest BMO bank machine and reset my PIN. Hopefully this works and I can get back to using my online banking and my card asap!!

I got a call from this number as well, didn't pick it up. BMP? I don't even have any services with them.

Received a call this morning - didn't pick-up because I was driving -- no message left.  I have had dealings with BMO in the past but this is a new cell # so I suspect it's a SCAM/PHISHING call where they've spoofed BMO's legitimate phone #. If I hadn't have been driving I'd have let it go to voicemail anyway -- if it's a legitimate caller, they'll leave a message.

Got an automated call saying they were from the fraud department of BMO and my card was compromised.  This number is listed online as BMO investment department. So I call BMO telephone banking number , Instead. BMO said NO red flags on my cards are showing.  Scammers have cloned BMO investment department number to show on the call display

It is BMO online banking department . They did frooze my son's account .  But we had to call twice to get the correct answer . First time I called back to BMO banking department listed on my paper statement , to see if this automated warning call to our home line , was on any of my family accounts ( that I'm co-owner & authorized user on all of them  )  they said nothing was on their screen to show issues with any of the accounts . However , online banking did flag an issue but didn't share the warning for all BMO departments

Caller ID showed it was from 1-877-225-5266
Ignored call and let it go to voicemail, but no message was left.
Googled number and it confirmed on official website that it was legitimately BMO.
Called this number back and it went to BMO call centre with a wait time of 5-20 minutes.
Checked this website for reports about spoofing. Am not a customer with this bank, so I decided to no wait to speak with their call centre.

I believe this is a scam!

My mom got this call.. 3 times a few mins apart.. she never picked it up as per my instructions about picking up a call from any 8xx number.    I asked her to call the number on the back of her BMO credit card and ask them.    NO issue at all with her CC and BMO had no record of needing to call her.   Thus we assume this was a spoofing call pretending to be BMO.
