It is Source Receivables Management.  A guy who identified himself as AJ demanded me to pay the money I never owed.  He was very rude and unethical.  He even hung up on me after making a demand repeatedly to pay the money and move on.  He seemed to determine to collect the debt from me because simply I have the same business name as the original debtor.  When I called the number back to get a hold of someone who has some senses, he hung up on me every time.  Finally, when I had my employee to call the number, a supervisor was put on the phone by another rude person working in the agency.  The supervisor also didn't identify his name or the name of collection agency he is working for.  Although he seems to be reasonable and took the correct information from me, I could not shake off the impression that he might have approved the illegal tactics being used.  A few days later, a letter from Source Receivables Management was mailed to me.  It says that I owe some money to his client which is T-Mobil, and they would assume the debt is valid unless I dispute the validity of the debt.  So I researched and found out they broke at least the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA).  I reported them to Federal Trade Commission.  Now I am seeking to file a complaint in a federal court.

I hate to "rain on your parade" but if it is a corporate debt, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act does not apply on business debts.  Based on that, you would probably not have any success in reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission.  The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act only applies to consumers.

I hear the incessant chatter on talk radio about everyone thinking that Obama is moving us to a "socialist" type of government.  Some of you people on here deserve that.  Seemingly you are incapable or maybe you are just too lazy to resolve these issues by yourself.  You want to clog up the bureaucratic agencies and governmental bodies with a lot of frivilous complaints and lawsuits.  In this last post, you stated that "I could not shake off the impression that he might have approved the illegal tactics being used."  Impressions mean nothing.  Perhaps you were so jaded by your own emotions that you were incapable of receiving any information.  It seems that everyone on this board is seeking an "easy payday" or "easy money".  Why don't some of you try spending as much time working as you do blogging and you would have plenty of money so therefore you would not have debt collectors calling you?  There are real people out here that have real needs.  Let the government handle those things...not frivilous complaints and lawsuits from litigious consumers.

I received a call from these guys too - claiming to be "Source Resource Management".  They claimed that they were calling on behalf of H&R Block for a previous tax year (nearly 3 years ago).  I took their number down, and called my tax prepared to find out for sure.  I'd filed taxes a couple of times since the year they were claiming and I've never had anyone at my tax office say anything to me about owing anything.  The person I got on the phone at H&R confirmed that they didn't see anything in the system.  This is a SCAM.  Do NOT give them credit card information.
