- Dave| 2 repliesI was charged $58.88 for NORTON *ANNUAL RENEWAL 877-294-5265. I had Norton anti-virus on an old computer, but no longer have it, so it seems impossible they could push any updates to my computer. I called, talked to customer rep, and was told I would be refunded the total amount, and would be taken off the annual renewal list. He explained that when you install Norton, there is a check-box for annual renewals, that is checked by default, and followed by an email notification. Of course, I don't remember that, and that the default is backwards. Now, it's wait and see if the refund shows up.
- RON| 1 replyChecked on my checking account today online. Norton or someone pretending to be them charged my account $74.19 without my consent. What a scam.

- jdogi found this number on my credit card statement, regarding Norton auto renewal for i product i wasn't even using , let alone authorizing
- jejones_lawoffice@yahoo.com replies to CynCould you send me some information on the class action? Because of Norton's fraudlent debiting of my checking account yesterday ($75.41) I lost an important loan request with Alliant Credit Union, because of the unauthorized debit for renewal on a product I do not use and have not used for years, took my account under, thereby nullifying a loan modification that would have otherwise been approved. When I made my follow-up call this morning after being told that Norton would fix this within 24 hours, I realized that Norton now had a pre-recorded message set-up, so they must have done this to a ton of people.
Having a negative balance on my checking account is causing me a ton of problems today. I think Norton should be responsible for all of this stuff and has likely damaged a lot of people. When you call, you get put through to Rahul, and he just keeps generating order numbers and reference numbers, and tells you that they have reversed it and the problem is on the banks end and that Norton never took the money out. The bank says that this is a lie. - jeremiah youngclausi did not authorize nor was made aware of this. i want a refund and someone held accountable for [***]!!! no one called me about anything.
- JefferyI have a charge for 84.09 in my checking account for a Norton Annual Renewal. I no longer own the computer and have not renewed service. This is a deliberate business practice aimed at unsuspecting former customers who may not notice the charge, it happened to me last year as well. They claimed I had a recurring renewal since 2007. I had the problem solved in 15 min and my refund would be completed within 3-5 days. Call 1.877.294.5265 to reclaim your money, all you need is your email address.

- PageThe exact same thing has happened to me that you are all speaking of. I purchased the anti-virus protection a year ago in March. A couple of days ago when I signed onto my computer a big message came up on the screen that said something to the effect of "would I like to renew my anti-virus subscription". I responded by clicking "no". Today I looked at my bank statement on-line, and I have been charged $73.49 for a Norton renewal fee, which I, like everyone else, did not sign up for. Even if I had accidentally checked a box that said I wanted automatic renewal (which I didn't) why wouldn't Norton notify me that my account was about to be charged?........and by the way.......why is everyone's renewal fee a different amount? I called the number above (which was on my bank statement) and was on the phone for 20 minutes. The representative tried to convince me that Norton sent me an email notifying me of the renewal charge, which is a bunch of B.S. The representative finally agreed to refund the charge and cancel the subscription. She said I would receive the refund in 2 to 3 days.........I won't hold my breath. I don't understand how this business can continue to get away with this practice. I would rather pay double the amount of the fee I was charged by Norton than to deal with a dishonest company.
