I received a call from these people and when I called them back, I got a recording instructing me to call back between the hours of 6am and 6pm. There was no ID of what business this number belongs to, either.

Someone from this number called us & hung up on me. I called back & was told they are an advertising company that lists businesses on the internet. The person I was talking to hung up on me before I could get a name of the company. When you do get thru, you don't get a name, a recording comes on saying you've reached customer service & the next avail agent will be with you shortly.

We have received no less than 10 calls from these people today.  Always asking for an owner or manager.  I have hung up on them several times but they keep calling back on one of our other phone lines.  I have asked to be taken off the call list...and yet they still call!!!

The name of the company is ZipWeb. They do online advertising for new or existing companies.  My assistant received a call from this company asking for me and stating that it was "personal" and that she would call back shortly. She would not leave a name or number of where she was calling from. I called the number back "personally" and was informed from the gentlemen of the pertinent information.  I also informed him to remove our number from their database.  He stated they would, but it would take up to 72 hours to remove.

Called at 10:49am eastern time on Tuesday, November 17.  Caller hung up without saying a word.

I have received calls from ZipWeb in the past. Sometimes I have picked up, sometimes not. I have looked this company up, and there are too many complaints to do business with them. It's a complete waste of time talking to a shady company.

So anyway, I get a call from this number again on 11/18/09 at 10:30 EST, but I didn't pick up. I called them back about 10 minutes later, and after waiting a few minutes a guy named Marcos answered.  He was courteous and bored at the same time. I told him I would like to have my number removed from their database. He said that he would place my number on their no-call list, and that it would take up to 72 hours to take effect.

We will see.

Zipweb is a criminal organization. They will post "free" advertising on their website for a month and then strange charges start appearing on your phone bill. In my case it was $39.95. This practice is called cramming. DO NOT GIVE THESE CROOKS ANY INFO.

I have recieved multiple phone calls from these people.  I have asked to be put on their do not call list, but keep receiving phone calls.  I am about another phone call away from reporting this to the authorities.  For anyone interested, here is some information that I received from them, I don't know how accurate this is.

Always answer these types of calls - they have to pay for completed call.  Keep them talking as long as possible with fake info so they have to pay more.
