i Wish I had more info on this, my wife had 2 charger from ( chkcard 877 nyus ) totalling close to 200 dollars.

Thanks for the info - I had a charge of $51 from CHKCARDTWX 877 NYUS  on my bank statement - I called the company and they refunded the $$ right away, they said I had agreed to it over the phone w/a telemarkerter about 3 months ago and that this was the end of the free trial that's why I was getting charged but I never agreed to anything!! - The lady was nice and very helful.

Thank goodness they refunded the money - I was getting pissed

This is a magazine subscription service that Books-a-million uses and when you have a BAM card they have your address, and when you purchase a book, they have your credit card...so when the three month "free trial" is up, you automatically get the magazines.  Call 800-586-5298 to cancel, they are very nice and make sure you get a confirmation number.  I have not received my refunds yet, but I called Corporate Books-A-Million and let them know exactly how I felt about my information being given out and the sneaky underhanded way of this scam.

I'm heading to my local Books-a-Million to let the manager know EXACTLY how I feel about this very shady business practice!

this number is a magazine sales department... when you go to books a million they will offer a  3 month free subscription to 3 of a group of 12 magazines. it is up to you to cancel the subscriptions before the 3 months are up or they will charge you for an annual fee for the magazines. call the 877 number when you realize what has happened and cancel the billing. be sure and watch for the refund!
be sure to write down the confirmation number that is given when you cancel the subs.

I signed up for a 2-month free trial magazine subscription as part of a promo at a well-known national book store chain. The promo was with a company called "Magazine Subscriptions"  If you don't cancel before the 2 months is up, they bill you for a full subscription. I DID cancel prior to the deadline, and later found that they had made an unauthorized charge of $8.35 to my checking account. I called 800.586.5298 to complain and to request a refund, and they actually asked me if I wanted to extend my subscription for another 2-months risk free. I declined, and they are sending me a refund.

The commercial for Strutz said it was $10.00, $6.99 shipping and handling, and you get one free along with some kind of foot cream. Afte giving the automated system my Debit card #, I heard 20 minutes of offers for cruises, Wal-mart coupons & magazines ALL of which I refused. They hit my Debit card with $38.99 and then another charge for $11.50! They claim that I ordered TWO Strutz! The other charge for $11.50 shows this phone number 877-417-3309, so I called and they said it is for a magazine. I told him that I did NOT order that and MUST reverse that charge. You can't trust ANYONE! I had this happen at Books a Million a few months ago also and started getting all these magazines in the mail. No more giving our my Debit/Master Card number to ANYONE again! A bunch of scams!

This just happened to me too. Also from a trial from Books-A-Million.

That's that same thing that happened to me. it overdrew on my account because of the $58. calling that number tomorrow.

I luckily found the paper because i read the fine print and knew i had to cancel in 3 months.

I called and used the number listed above 1800-586-5298 to speak with somebody to cancel it... after a bit of incredulous questioning the guy kindly refunded my money and cancelled my subscriptions... I guess I had signed up for it at BAMM... weird that they would charge without notifying us. Definitely give the number a try to get your money back.

It happened to me too. I was pissed and told them to refund my money and cancel the subscription.  They charged my account for $12 and the only thing I can think of also is from BAM too. Make sure you call and tell them to refund your money and cancel. Get that person name and call id#.

I checked my bank statement today and saw a charge of $24.50 from what seemed a magazine subscription. I went over my my statement and the charges for subscriptions amounted to almost $60. I have been receiving magazines: National Geographic, Real Simple, Times for a couple of weeks. After calling my bank, then one of the number on the statement I found out I was subscribed to these magazines by Books a Million (retail promotion.) I immediately called Books a Million in Concord, NC spoke to a manager and gave her a piece of my mind. I had been told I was going to receive free magazines and how does Book a Million dare to give my credit card info away. Anyways, I was told to call Synapse at 1-877-373-6866. The subscriptions were canceled and I am supposed to get a refund within 72 hrs.
