I heard a story on the news a few weeks ago about the red light company that used to service the city having hired a company to try to collect the millions in unpaid red light tickets, so that's probably what this is, a poorly handled attempt to collect. Good advice. I've advised my son not to talk to them or give funds.

Received a recorded call from "Credit Watch", calling on behalf of the City of Albuquerque and that they had a civil citation.  I was to call 877-444-3343.  I have absolutely no outstanding tickets and didn't even live in the state with the dates they noted.  They must be stopped.  They are harassing my family

Calls wanting to discuss a "potential civil citation".  Definitely a SCAM.  How can we get these calls to stop?  Who do we report this too?

Have been getting these, for myself and for my husband.  We don't even live anywhere near ABQ and would never talk to anyone who was not putting their info down on letterhead paper, in a professional manner.  The man left the name "Craig Watts."  We're not calling him back, whoever "him" is.

I had the same call multiple times.  I've called back twice to have them remove our number and name from their list. I have no debt, and no citations.

YES, THIS PERSON KEEPS CALLING FOR ME@ MY MOTHERS RESIDENCE. MY MOTHER SUFFERS FROM SEVERAL ILLNESS AND DOSENT UNDERSTAND EXACTLY WHAT THIS PERSON IS SAYING AND OR LEAVING MESSAGES ON HER PHONE. This is a collection agencyfor the red light cameras that cabq used to have. This is legit. I found out the hard way. I ignored the calls, this morning i pulled my credit report and there are 3 collections. Fml. The claims that they are not legit are misleading. This WILLhurt your credit.Just a little fyi from someone who just got duped into feeling SCAMMED and to find out its legit effed my credit.

Had 5 of these messages in a week on my mother's phone in ABQ. Thought it strange as I am not an Albuquerque resident and don't have an Albuquerque land line number. Glad I checked out this website. SCAM is what I thought!

I just received the same call and myself live in ABQ, I called back and was hung up on several times. I looked up the number and found many places stating this co is a scam. I myself do not have any outstanding tickets! Do not waste your time, if you were to have any legal action brought against you, you wouldnt be finding out thru a phone call from an 877 number!

Don't answer. Scam... Don't talk to them or they will record your voice and try to piece a verbal agreement recording together to charge you money.

I just called the city of Albuquerque and called 311.. They assured me it is legit and that the city is pursuing collections through Credit Watch.

I called the City of Albuquerque information (311) and was told the city hired this company to collect on the tickets issued from the traffic light cameras.  Even tho those cameras no londer exsist, ABQ is still trying to collect the $.

Received a similar message...i.e., City of Albuquerque regarding a civil citation.  Calling KOAT to report this.  Probably tied into the camera's for red light violators reported last week.  And, no, I have not received any kind of citation form the City of Albuquerque.

So, is this company trying to collect for the City of Albuquerque or not.

I, too, assumed this must be fraud when I received this call. I didn't give the caller any info, but he knew my name, the address I had for my registration at the time, and the license plate of my vehicle. He was rude and unprofessional, and became even more so when I told him I was not going to give credit card info to some random person from an 800 number especially when I never received a citation (from 2010, the called claimed). However, a friend had been driving my car at the time, so it was certainly possible there might have been a citation for running a red light. I called the City of Albuquerque county clerk's office, who then put me in touch with law enforcement. The young lady I spoke with told me that Creditwatch was the company to whom the unpaid red light citations had been turned over for collections.  I am still going to verify the citation with the city tomorrow when they open, but it appears to be legit.
