Well I got three of them, so I called.
Got right through to a guy named Jeff.

Said he was looking for _____________(Mother's given name), she's been dead for 25 years, which is what I stated, getting angrier all the time.

Then he said is your name ______________ (My given name). Is ________ the last four numbers of your Sosh? "Absolutely not".

Is _____________ also your father's name?  Absolutely not.

I suspect this is a followup collection agency to one which has harassed me here at work which I finally got off my case by contacting the local AG.

My name is as common, or more common, than John Smith. I've read my obituary twice in my home town paper.  

I have little doubt it is a legitimate collection call regarding a legitimate claim but it has absolutely nothing to do with me.

Fortunately they do not have my SSN so I'm not being victimized by stolen identity.

No, I'm not going to report them for this minor infraction of the rules.

Next time, it's the FCC and the FBI.

Received a message today from this insistenting that I call back before 6:00 PM CST or blah blah blah.   Message was very threatening, but he gave no indication as to what the call was regarding.  I suspect that this is a scam.

I have not received a call from this number but my husbands ex-wife did and they were asking for me with the same threats, etc.  Also, my sister in law who lives completely across the country received a call from this guy.  I will call the BBB and the FTC and report this - how can I get it to stop?...it is harassing my family members, etc....just weird!

I just recieved a harrassing call from this # 877-591-7654 from a Mr. Adams no company name etc. and it was a prerecorded message threatening to take action on me if I didn't call back before 6:00 CST.  I also have a very common name but when I called I got a real person and I said I was calling to find out why I was receiving threating calls from them they asked me if I was someone else I said no and they said they would correct it.  The thing is they never asked me my name and my # isn't in my name and the name the asked if I was was man's and my # is also under a males name.  TOTAL SCAM I reported to the FTC.

got a call at 2:09pm on 10/26/10  from this number saying : this is mr. adams, with your continual neglect of response from calls made over the last 30 days, that he had a business letter in his office from you. that excessive force and process will be taken without ur input. that a call must be received by u by no later than 6pm today. WHEN YOU CALL BACK  I WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE BUT U CAN TALK TO ANY OF MY CLAIMS REPRESENTATIVES.  that this is your last chance to contact me. HE did not say the company name or even leave a name of who he is trying to get hold of???  SCAM DAH. he talked in a very friendly joyful voice to make it sound good.

They are a debt collection agency.  Maybe not for yourself, but it could be for a friend or a family member that listed your name or your number as a reference sometime.  Now they are trying to find the location of that person.

Got a call today from Mr. Yardley at 1-877-591-7654.  Even though today is Wednesday October 27th, the recorded message said that "Today is Monday the 27th day of October."  Same bit with the file that got transferred to his office and needs my input and that God forbid, they may proceed without my input and to call back before 4pm...OR ELSE.  

Instead of promptly returning Mr. Yardley's call, I called the FTC instead and filed a complaint.

Stop calling me. these people alway call on the weekends. tired of it.

Appartently the new name for this number is "Mr. Peters".  I got this call at 12:23 pm saying a business matter was on his desk and if I didn't contact him or a "claims agent" by 6:00 pm that he would move forwards with his assessment.  He never stated my name or any specifics of the "business matter".  He make a point of repeating the date as Nov. 9, 2010.

I did also get a call from this number, I called back and it was a collection call for my
Grandson. Wanted to know where he lived etc.  I really didn't know but told them to go to Facebook.
He is on there.  
Wanted to know his parents names.  I told them he was over 21 and was responsible for his own debts.
He said he would take my number off their list.  If they don't I will report them as a harrassing call.

I got same call saying I had till 6 P.M. to call him back or else. Did not say who he was calling for or why. Just an important matter that had be reassigned to his office. I have tried to call back to find out what is going on but just get disconnected.

Same M.O. as many other calls. Always a recorded message from a toll free number so you can't identify who it is. Claims to be a Mr. so-and-so but no business title, only he has business with you that needs to be discussed ASAP.

Don't call. If you manage to get a human, the first thing they want from you is your Social Security number! They hang up if you press for more information about who they are and what they want.

Have reported this to the office of my state Attorney General, because we're supposed to be on a No Call list. AG's office called back to leave a message saying this was a collection agency and legally allowed to call me. If they harassed me, I could talk to someone in their office who deals with rogue collection agencies.

Thing is, neither my spouse nor I HAVE any outstanding debts. I suspect this has to do with a relative of mine whom I allowed a few years ago to have mail forwarded to my address while he was in the process of moving. Nonetheless, there isn't a thing this company can do against us, so it's best just not to answer.

ok i'm not sure what is going on but like most of you guys i get a call (2 times now) i can't remember the guys name he says it and that a case has been put on his desk, never leaves a company name. i know that that happens but i've had debit collectors call us they leave a company name though. but also they never state a name on who should call back. our last name isn't common but there are 3 adults (me my husband and my mother in law) all living here and never has it said a name so i'm not sure what is going on.... but they request in a threating voice to call back before 5pm central time 1-877-591-7654

I keep getting the same call the are looking for someone else and some how got my number. The company is Regent and they say they are a debt collection agency. I told them the stop calling me because the have the wrong number

Get repeated calls from this number not specifying anything specific just says its important and need to call back to talk to assistant or him anyway total scam trying to steal information dont tell these people anything

Don't appreciate toll free numbers from whomever.  Especially when my number is on the DO NOT CALL list.

I am getting calls from this number as well, does not leave a message and calls once a day to every other day.
