Received same threatening call Monday, Jan. 20 to our home in Massachusetts.  Call your Attorney General's Office and file consumer complaint and notify your Secretary of State Office Division of Banks (which regulates collection agencies).

Rcv'd similar vm threatening legal service at home/job. Called to inquire as to company name and address and they refuse to provide -  I think they are a pennies on the dollar Zombie/Junk Debt (Settled/ Wrong Person/ Discharged in BK / Out of Statute / Time Barred) scammer operating in violation of Fed/State laws ( i.e. abusive, deceptive and unethical collections practices). Since they have no legal ability to sue they are simply looking to frighten unsophisticated people - low hanging fruit into paying.

Appears they are operating in the shadows (877 or skype numbers/mail drop boxes/no payment by bank check but only harder to trace cc payments to some merchant number they have set up) Concealing their true identity and address to prevent people from suing them for FDCPA violations and make it difficult for the FTC or State AG's to go after them.

A net search shows that in 2013 a firm calling itself Swanson Walker of Lockport NY was using the same alias/script on their calls..."Legal Caring Services" - 24-48hr, legal summons , 2 forms id home/place of work etc...  Perhaps the same scammers under a new guise and fits with reports that these "people" may be operating out of the Upstate NY area,  Albion - Lockport area.

As they seem to be calling out to many states, It may be most effective to report them to the NY State AG office in Buffalo.
If they get enough complaints they might be able to find them and shut them down.

Recd call from this #. MSG said this is Charles Quake( no company name) calling about ur ss# being involved in possible fraud. Please call the company filing against u at 877-664-9642.  I did call this # and spoke to Natalie Moss who said she was from the legal outsourcing dept of Western Acquisitons Group. Did not give her any personal info (turns out she was looking for someone else) but did let her know about all these fraud accusations against her company and perhaps she would want to look for another job b4 she gets arrested.  She claimed not to have any knowledge of these accusations.  She went on to say she was going to look into it herself, thanked me for the info and assured me my # would be removed from their list

Followup - Threatened "Process Server" never did show up in the 24-48 hr window.
Interesting that Western Acquisitions Group aka Legal Caring Services are now using a different call back number 877-664-9642.  I'm most grateful to have a site like Whocallsme and you wonderful contributors shining a light and exposing these "people".

I received the exact same message as those stated here-it was a male voice recording. I called the number back (844-766-8647) and got a woman who was very friendly...at first and identified the company as Western Acquisions in Albion, NY. Then she became rude and beligerent when I asked for a written verification of the debt via mail. She told me that they would not do that. She ultimately ended up hanging up on me when I asked her why I would pay for something that could not be verified.

Received a call from 844-828-7808 stating what others have said about a summons in my name that would be delivered to my home or place of employment. This was left on a voicemail, and they also stated that this was in regards to missed court dates and a warrant was pending. Curiosity got the best of me, and I called the number back where I was transferred to a "federal prosecutor working in liaison" with this as yet unidentified firm that took some talking to to identify themselves as Western Acquisitions Group. I immediatly looked them up on the internet, saw their awful fake looking website and found that they were scammers and/or Zombie debt collectors. When I pointed this out, the fella became verbally abusive and hung up on me. Obviously not legit. I live in PA, by the way.

We received a call from this company, or rather I should say a call from "Charles." As an attorney, I realized it appeared to be a blatant violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as well as Pennsylvania Consumer Laws. Why do they do it then? Because most people will remain silent, and not assert their rights, because they may owe money and feel guilty. Yet, your elected officials in congress, after becoming aware of the abuses of debt collectors, passed this law and the President signed it. They did this to protect you and other debtors. It has been on the books since the late 1970's and enforced by courts throughout the nation. It provides for $1,000. for the consumer, plus reasonable attorney fees. Residents of some states, such as my state of Pennsylvania, receive further damages by virtue of Pennsylvania's Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act at 73 P.S. § 2270.1 et seq. I am an advocate of debtor rights because during my career I lost two of my clients who were harassed by debt collectors, to the point they committed suicide. While you can call the FTC and your local attorney general, they may not have the time or resources to pursue the matter. They may want to help you, and do the very best they can, but imagine trying to handle the volume of complaints they receive. That is why there is a private remedy providing you with a damage award and attorney fees. So few people pursue their rights that these companies continue their illegal practices. They may have to pay a few thousand dollars now and then for breaking the law, but they continue to turn a profit anyway.  B.T.W., the (disputed) claim on which they were trying to collect was way past the statute of limitations. You see, some companies buy the claims at a small percentage of their actual value, and try to recover what they can. If they do not recover, they punish you by harassing you.

I have contacted this company with concern at first as well, after doing my research the company is a legit they have helped me not only settle my debt but provided helpful information on fraud prevention, considering I have been a victim before. I would suggest contacting them before this goes too far.

Got the same message today from this company.  They claimed that I owe money to Citibank the was over 5000.  I asked repeatedly for proof of the debt they said I could settle for 1581. and that they would process the settlement with the credit bureau.  I told them that I would take the settlement letter they sent me to my JAG office.  He they guy I was talking to got mad and started trying to forcing me to give him my credit card information, Gift card, prepaid credit card didn't care what I gave him as long as he got something.  I didn't give them anything...The scary part of this was that he had information that was related to my past and my present.  I am sure all people who dealt with Western Acquisitions Group understands this law breaking organization.  I went to my JAG and had him draft a letter and send it to the PO Box in NY.  Now I have Life Lock.
I also would like to state that the idea of someone coming to your house is really dumb could you tell me how do they know where anyone works...How do they know where you work?  I never been served, but I have seen a lot where the person doesn't tell you they are going to serve you they walk up and give you paper and tell you you've been served....They are stupid I called due to the fact that I wanted to see what this was all about.  I am glad that I wasted his time just as much as he wasted mine.  In all keep this in mind they have a legal obligation to prove the debt is valid they will tell you all about old debts.  Don't give them anything this all is part of the Target issue that has peoples information all over the world.  I never got call before this time so I am sure its got to do with that since I was apart of the number of people who got caught by those other crooks.

My research points to this boilerroom being one of several Lockport NY based scam outfits similar to those run a few yrs back by Pinto,Coppola,Hamilton and associates.... Heston McClain see #99 http://lockportrampagefootball.com/team/roster/   may be listed as the owner per NY State corp filing records but i bet he's most likely a "front" for the real owner.
