You were lucky.  They wanted to settle a false 13 year old CC debt at $10K for $2K with me.  they called me daily at home and work, had my SS# (really scary).  I never even owned a JCPenney CC.  They even swore at me..."pay your [***] bills".   Really?

He called my cell phone twice, then my mothers twice, all within just a few minutes to speak with me. I got on the phone with him to ask what this is about, without disclosing who I was. He turned combative and threatening, telling me that if I am too coward to state who I was, he would then forward all my information on to others.

I called him back, and the guy that answered the phone, put me through to him. I thought he sounded like the same guy, and it turns out, that it IS the same guy. First sign of a scam. He was incredibly rude and combative, especially when I told him I wouldn't verify my social security number. He then hung up on me. I called him back and the first thing I said is that I am recording the phone call, which changed his demeanor for a couple minutes. He then went back to being rude and kept yelling over me and challenging me to play back the recording to him...wouldn't let me talk. He kept on challenging me in a rude manner, and hung up on me again. For the record, I did NOT play it back to him. But, I DID for our attorney.

I called the number back, to see if I could get a mailing address, because another sign of fraud and scam, is refusing to provide a mailing address. The guy who answered...again, pretending to be someone other than the guy I was talking to earlier, refused to give me a mailing address...said that he wouldn't give that out to just anyone. I then said, that's interesting, because that's a sign that he's a fraud. He suddenly, and conveniently knew who I was...said my complete name, and I instantly knew I was talking to someone who was pretending to be multiple people. Even after he knew who I was, he would not give me a mailing address.

they call trying to collect on a sears debt he said is from 1985, I don't even remember if I owed anything on that acct , the guy was extremely rude and said you have to pay even if the debt is from 40 yrs ago , he offered a plan payment or a reduced payment , they ask for  my credit card number  .....I'm not paying with out knowing if I owe, or who are this people !!!!

got a call from 630 326 8550 leaving a message to call back ilene at DCS 877 688 8288 ext 131,,,u got a letter regarding a 500 debt from 2005 with their name..SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!

i did call the number back asked for the woman that left message  never got to her just some guy telling what i owe and if i didnt  pay that my children would be loser . then just continue to make threats against me and my family..

Recv'd a call from the number above and they asked for one of my co-workers by name -- The guy's name who called was "Ed Payton"
Must be another fake name.  I asked him if this was a bill collector - and he acted like he was floored that I would even think such a thing.  Wow... these scumbags need to get a life !!!!
